Even she was totally overshadowed by everyone. The weakest link in the drama imo and she and Zhang Ruo Yun had 0 chemistry (he had way more with femme fatale Si Li Li played by Frida Li)

Okay, poster is like "The imperial coroner" and title is like our drama here. Anyway if the female doesn't talk like a toddler with only one facial expression (deer in headlights) as it was the case with "pouty" Zhou Xiao Tong and if she is not written like an Abbrasive, annoying spoiled brat of a fangirl like the FL in STOATD, then this drama whose link is posted here got a good chance to one of the tops.

Now i am watching "Once upon a time in LingJian mountain" and so far it is not bad at all ! It is a 2019 hit drama but I have been sleeping on it cause I am not so much into Xu Kai. Shame on me I should have trusted it more knowing how 2019 was a really good year for quality costume dramas with nice soundtracks (and this one is no exception). The comedy is very like golden aged HK comedy movie. Try it and see if you like it.
I remember when I discovered Song Joon Ki in SungKyunKwan Scandal. He was sooooo pretty and even more youthful looking I couldn't believe he was 25 and I was taken aback by his deep voice. Guy is the korean male ZhouXun. Both just motivate you at taking care of yourself.

Don't worry anyone who knows me knows that neither Zhao Lousy nor grating-voiced Esther Yu impress me. Esther drama was mainly successful thanks to the beauty of it and Dylan character's charm. Esther got flacks for her "pouty" game (the usual "innocent" cdrama FL) and grating voice (even her diction is good from what one Chinese reviewer said). ZLS is the type of actress whose team is sure trying and working hard to make the next biggest thing in China even when I was watching her earlier below average chick flicks I never understood why. I found her and those dramas lousy.

Girl, I am persistent in my statement, the FL character here will be the typical that have been overdominant in cdramaland those last 7/8 years : juvenile goody-two-shoes with a nasally high-pitched-voice and a hate-to-love relationship with broody dark ML. The writting won't stand out. Same old been there done that. Now if I am proven wrong and FL is written with an interesting twist that makes her more than a caricature (what majority of cdramas FLs have been lately) I will take back my words.
