I think it is still doing better even with LLTG airing now and which has more popular stars. People had 0 expectation from LBAFD and on its 1st week it is a hit with decent quality.
So far, this drama is elevating the dieing Xianxia genre a lil bit the way "The weekend" has been carrying the now degenerated American music industry, on his shoulders, in early 2020.

I agree dramas like Bokura wa kiseki de dekite or Nagi no oitama or Heaven and Hell: soul exchange are just hidden gems cause Japan ent remains unwilling to expand. So people are all about kdramas now even praising/awarding plagiarism of Japanese works like "Squid Game".

Never got the hype about Meteor Garden 2001. It is the 1st version I checked and not only it looked cheap but it had some of the worst acting around especially Jerry Yan who apparently never grew out of it years later.
