This is what I think.
Lady Dong was originally with the Dowager Queen and she apparently developed feelings for Lee In when he was still the Grand Prince. However, since the dowager queen favored lady dong, the previous king forcefully made her his court lady to humiliate her. Lee In knows this and I think he also knows about her feelings for him which is why he appealed to her to side with him when he lied about taking the throne for himself. After all this deceit, he keeps her close both as a way to appease her and keep an eye on her. She knows that he doesn’t sleep with any of the women in the inner court and because she is the only woman he lets gets close to him (within whatever boundaries he’s made) she’s under the impression that he returns her affections (her declaration that love can be in any form and does not necessarily need physical expression). She still thinks MongWoo is a man and believes Lee In refused to sleep with her because he is attracted to men and not because he doesn’t want her per se.
If you ask me, this is a pretty toxic relationship. She’s delusional while he’s using her. I am not dismissing her feelings but I wish she was aware of what he was doing cos she’s an intelligent woman and it’s sad to see her wait for Lee In to ‘see’ her.

Exactly! I understand why the FL wants revenge and why she’s going about it the way she is. She did not know what he did in the background to make sure she was safe and how much he grieved for her. He on the other hand, knows how she must be feeling and why she’s come to him again. And he’s already showed her how much he cares for her which is why she’s wavering but he still hasn’t apologised. I feel she’ll be soothed if he gives her a heartfelt apology and then they can finally join hands and get rid of the actual villain here 😀😀

I think it’s the possibility of skinship that’s such a turn on here. She seems to have a better knack for planning and strategizing when she does it for others (eg: the queen, prince, etc). I hope she realises that she can stop her revenge plan as there is nothing to be avenged per se. What she really needs is a heartfelt apology from Lee In for treating her the way he did. Yes!!!!!!!! One could practically see his inner monologue playing out on screen through his expressions!!! The confusion about his attraction, the joy that it’s returned, the wonder of his first time, the resignation and acceptance to it - all of it! So beautifully done!!!!! The last time I felt this intensely about an attraction on screen was JunHo as Lee San in Red Sleeve.

I feel for the guy! First, he believes he’s attracted to men, but when he actually hears the rumors going around about him, he confirms that no he isn’t attracted to all men but just ONE man.
