I thought about why YT didn't turn out to be like SiZhui and this is what came to mind.I think that there wasn't anyone who actively empathized with SiZhui especially towards the end. All the focus and attention was on YT cos everyone had some kind of vested interest in her and her circumstances whereas SiZhui was sort of an outsider. Yes QingHeng was interested in her but to me, it felt like he wanted her to just get over it so that he could start a relationship with her and I am wondering if subconsciously, he made comparisons to how YT seemed to have bounced back from her grief. There didn't seem to be any effort to understand SiZhui's specific circumstances and it is also true that she didn't give him an opportunity to do so either. YeTan seemed shocked/surprised when SiZhui was explaining the layout and experiences of her 'home' when they were in Donqui and even then, she kept pushing back the focus to "So what are you going to do now? Where are you building your house? Why don't you come travelling with me and Youqin?" etc etc

I do feel that SiZhui is an especially tragic character as even if people did care for her, it wasn't in a way that could reach her or, in consideration for how she actually felt.
