"daon is the most annoying ml this year" U GUYS. listen. his entire family, according to what we've seen, got…
Even he also knows she is demon, he has seen her powers and she herself has admitted but he still wants to catch her as if she is normal human criminal.
If he was unaware of her identity then it was ok but even after knowing she is demon, chasing after her is plain stupidity.
I agree with you, Han Do An is getting on my nerves too. But just like all dramas that involves supernatural and…
Atleast in those drama, detectives are unaware of supernatural entity's real identity or evn if they are aware, they take priest or shaman's help like The Guest but here this Da On guy is just stupid and irritating.
A lot of plot holes. Two victims with a word stamped on their forehead also have same pattern, both cases judged…
I watch this for my guilty pleasure, ignore all plot holes just to enjoy 15-20 minutes of bitna punishing criminals brutally but this ML is ruining everything for me.
I got annoyed as well, but I think as a police its his duty, but he should meddle less in her business
If its his duty then just go and catch other real criminals instead of going after demon who is way beyond his reach. Its just stupidity to go after her even after witnessing her powers.
ML is really getting on my nerves, he is actually ruining the show for me. There are plenty of plot holes but i have been ignoring them just for Kang Bitna. However ML is ruining everything.
The way he keeps interfering with Kang Bitna's mission frustrates me so much. In these last two eps (5-6), he crossed the line. Before that, he was tolerable. He knows Bitna’s real identity as a demon punishing evildoers, yet this overly smart detective insists on catching the demon who’s cleaning up the trash of this world instead of going after real criminals. His obsession with Bitna is infuriating. Bro, just go do your job. These demons are beyond your laws. In one scene, he even asked how can person do this, is he serious?? She is a demon. Just go preach your morality to someone else.
Also, the romance angle is completely unnecessary. Kang Bitna is Justitia, she has to return to hell so whats the point of giving her a romantic subplot with the ML?? Cant this just be a pure crime thriller fantasy without romance?? I cant even ship them because the ML is so immature, expecting a demon to follow human laws and regulations.
Secondly, the police storyline is just dumb. They are all useless and im skipping their scenes. They contribute nothing to the overall plot. Every suspect in Kang Bitna’s cases is being murdered but no one even suspects her. Leaving the ML aside, since he knows her identity, its ridiculous that the other detectives havent caught on. It just shows how worthless they are.
Additionally, Kang Bitna’s verdicts for each case are kind of a joke. Its very much unrealistic.
Kang Bitna has a mission to kill 20 murderers in a year. Why doesnt she just go after already convicted murderers?? Im 100% sure there are thousands in prison. She could just check their files and hunt them down. But i get it, if she did that, there would be no point in her being a judge from hell.
There are a lot of plot holes but im ignoring them to enjoy how Kang Bitna punishes perpetrators every other episode. The way she gives them back the pain they inflicted on their victims is so satisfying. Those 15-20 minutes of her punishing the bad guys make up for all the plot holes.
Still, i believe the plot could have been written more tightly.
This was one of the finest mystery thrillers i have watched this year. It started off with a bad impression due to its low production quality but the tightly woven mystery plot kept pulling me in more and more, to the point where i forgot about the cheap production. The story just kept getting better with each passing episode until the end.
The show also made my blood boil with its infuriating characters. What made it even more frustrating is how real they felt. They werent inherently evil like the typical psychopaths in crime thrillers, instead they were ordinary people trying to cover up one crime, only to commit more and more in an effort to save themselves.
Byun Yohan's acting was stupendous. He is an actor i usually ignore as he doesnt draw me to his projects but here his portrayal of a man falsely accused and unjustly punished for 10 years was outstanding. The way he conveyed the pain and suffering through his performance moved me all the way to the end. Even the supporting cast did so well that i wanted to jump into the screen and punch them.
The show started with a modest 2.8% rating and ended with 8.8%, which says a lot about how it grew on the audience. Like many others, i was initially disappointed but the script and story changed everyone's perception of the drama.
I loved this show and im really looking forward to the director's future projects. Hopefully, he gets a better budget for his upcoming work.
I would have given an extra 0.5 points if the production quality were better but i will still give a solid 9/10 to this excellent mystery thriller.
This show was absolutely hilarious, a riot from start to finish. The short spinoff takes place during the moment when Bokgyu tries to apologize to Jayeon outside the police station. He nearly gets into an accident and seeing him in danger causes Jayeon to faint. In that instant, she is transported into her own web novel waking up in the body of the main protagonist, Seo Yeon Seo. Shocked by Bokgyu's near accident, she starts seeing him everywhere as Kang Hajun, the character, Yeo Hajun was originally playing before her transmigration.
From digital billboards to movies, Bokgyu’s face appears in every role. He hilariously replaces Song Joong Ki and Cha Eun Woo on digital billboards and even steps into Lee Do Hyun’s part in Exhuma 🤣🤣.
Onnie guy from Behind Your Touch also makes several cameos and his scenes are equally hilarious.
Once transmigrated things take a comedic turn as she attempts to alter several plotlines only to fail spectacularly which leads to some truly funny moments.
This spinoff also explains when Nam Jayeon actually fell in love with Bokgyu in the original story.
Overall i enjoyed this spinoff even more than the original No Gain No Love.
Show went downhill after the reveal that Ji Uk was the chairman's illegitimate son. That trope was completely unnecessary and added no real value to the overall storyline.
Shin Min Ah carried the entire show on her back. Along with Lee Sang Yi, who did a splendid job, both actors nailed the comedic scenes. Han Ji Hyun and Secretary Yeo Hajun were equally good.
The main couple was boring, largely due to KYD's lackluster acting which resulted in no chemistry between them. However, the second lead trio was absolutely hilarious. Shin Min Ah single handedly carried the entire ship. Even if we overlook KYD's acting, the writers completely neglected to develop the main couple's love story. To be honest, I cant even recall when Ji Uk and Son Hae Young fell in love.
The ending was unsatisfying because many storylines were left without a proper conclusion. For example, the illegitimate son storyline took up a lot of screen time, but what kind of resolution did it get?? The whole fight between the brothers felt unnecessary and added no value to the plot. I would have preferred if Ji Uk had remained the foster son of Hae Young's mother. The illegitimate son subplot also sidelined the main love story, which is why there was no real development between the leads.
The third sister's polyamorous relationship was utterly pointless. I didnt understand it, nor did i get anything from their ending. What was the purpose??
That being said, despite my complaints, i actually enjoyed the show for its comedy. The humor was top-notch and had me in stitches.
I would still give it a 8.5/10 for Shin Min Ah, the second leads and the comedy.
Im so glad the angsty and problematic phase in LND was resolved between ep 6 and 10 and now we are getting only sweet episodes. Its always better to address issues early on and then enjoy the sweeter moments, rather than having the sweet moments first and facing the angst after ep 10. When the leads are reunited in a rushed way in the final episode, it often leaves viewers with a very unsatisfying experience, which is what most kdramas tend to do.
Done with the first two episodes and i absolutely loved it. The leads share an undeniably beautiful chemistry and their flashback scenes in japan were both adorable and visually stunning. In contrast, the present day scenes set in korea are filled with well executed angst though they sometimes comes off as mood killer after the sweet flashback moments from japan.
Kentaro really stood out for me in this drama. While i have seen him before in Netflix's movie The Parades, his character didnt appealed me as much as he does here. I think his puppy like charm worked for me in this role. Lee Seyoung's japanese was quite fluent and she did overall good job here.
S2 was slightly better than S1. The first half was incredibly boring and i found myself feeling sleepy while watching it. However, things picked up in the second half with Lady Maeda's return. It started to get interesting around E5 but it still didnt fully satisfy me.
The love story always felt forced even from S1. I never understood when or how the leads fell in love and their romance continued to feel unnatural in S2 as well.
This was one of the best written youth romance BLs i have seen. From start to finish, the writing was coherent and excellent. While the pacing was slow, it allowed the characters and their situations to be thoroughly established. The slow burn was handled exceptionally well here.
What stood out to me was the portrayal of the characters internal conflicts and emotional struggles especially Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian. At just 17 years old, their confusion and emotional turmoil felt really genuine, capturing the complexity of adolescence.
Both Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian are burdened by their pasts and their gradual connection, as they learn to understand each other and provide a sense of belonging is one of the series most heartfelt elements. Their journey toward healing, both individually and together was beautifully executed.
One particular scene that made long lasting effect from the series was the parallel between Sheng Wang witnessing his two male teachers kissing and child Jiang Tian seeing his father with another man. The impact of these moments was conveyed brilliantly. While Sheng Wang, seeing two men kiss at the right age, realized his feelings for Jiang Tian, Jiang Tian’s childhood experience of seeing his father making out with another man traumatized him for life. This scene speaks volumes about the lasting effects of these experiences.
The angst in the final two episodes was really well executed. I liked that the series didnt rush into a conclusion where Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian end up together, acknowledging that they still have more growing to do. Im sure S2 is on the way and im excited to see their relationship continue to evolve.
Lastly Gao Tianyang was easily my most favorite character from this series. He was such an outgoing and outspoken character, always lightening the mood with his antics. If anyone had a friend like him they would never have a dull moment in life.
What is there even to demean about him?? He's already demeaned himself. Sorry, but you really made me laugh with your statement. By the way, you defending him says a lot about you too.
If he was unaware of her identity then it was ok but even after knowing she is demon, chasing after her is plain stupidity.
