She's is wife, they are obligated as a royal couple to produce an heir. He didn't look like he was enjoying it…
I stopped watching the subs. Its his wife.
Go to Google and learn the romanisation for the characters?
I swear the subs for this drama is so bad that just for this drama I actually make sure I have privacy to turn the volume up so I can understand right? But then there is moaning and all sorts and then my family might overhear.
Shesh. Its never happened before because my children know I watch Kdramas. And yes I understand enough Korean so I depend on the subs for maybe 50% of the time.
Oh my goodness, they actually went all the way!!! Am I loving this drama or what!!
Crikey. I just love how this drama is just totally unpredictable. My Kdrama brain knows what the plot is supposed to be but I've stumbled upon this strange creature in traditional sageuk land and I'm thrown for a loop.
I'm just going to sit back and see what comes. Its been a heck of a long time when I actually don't know what is goinf on in a drama. I am not a prude but my mind keeps expecting a traditional saguek.
My one tiny complaint about this drama.Since it is a fictional dynasty, I wish they would have created their own…
If the writers don't make it fictional Koreans tend to go nutso about it distorting history. Or a historical fact was potrayed in a negative manner etc. I totally support a fictional country but have the sageuk fact I like. I don't like fantasy or fusion saguek as well. Case in point- Check in Hanyang. Its obviously based on a 5 star hotel or boutique hotel concept.
It's basically a light and fluffy rom-com with a lot of sex. I really like the second leads and I'm interested…
Oh. You mean it like that? I just put it as background as part of the scene so literally didn't focus on it. It all added up to less than 10 minutes in a 120 minute 2 episodes I didn't really count the minutes. So 10-20 %. Which is great compared to one kiss in ep, 10 for regular Kdramas. For like 10 seconds.

Did we watch the same show? It wasn't that light. There was a lot of sex? The episodes were over an hour each. There wasn't a lot of sex. We really didn't watch the same show. Korean dramas usually don't show the characters being honest and hide their thoughts. The characters here are brutally direct.
Were the subs ok? I stopped paying attention to the subs before episode 1 ended. I wasn't really paying attention to it. Let's not blame the subs. The acting was good, the palace politics low key but the lines by everyone is pretty direct for a historical drama especially expressing their feelings. The general chatter by the supporting cast is risque for a show but the actual story is good. Didn't you see the contrast between the Queen and consort? Then the different levels of relationships between the 3 couples?
I like it! Binge watched the first 2 eps and found it refreshing and quite funny actually!
Finished 2 episodes. I am going to ignore the rating and just comment on the drama. Its more raw and grittier than the average Korean drama. The casting is really good. Everyone bar 1 is a sageuk actor. The casting is actual way better than I anticipated.
I am now totally invested in how they are going to solve the Crown Prince's marriage. I also like that the siblings actually like each other.
Good show. Way better than I thought from all the comments. If the ratings gives the writers opportunities to actually dig down and flesh out ( no pun intended ) the characters I'm all for it.
And omg the subs. Is it going to improve? That's not actually TVing's subs right? The personal pronouns are consistently wrong. And did I spot an Indonesian word in there? I actually turned up the volume and paid attention to the conversation because the subs are bad. Lordie its been awhile since I've actually had to depend on my Korean.
Good first 2 episodes. Can't complain. I am happy its on TVing. Netflix has a habit of only producing or airing slick shows. I want a good drama instead. I certainly would not be surprised if the scenes were in a Korean movie but not as drama. The actor playing the Grand Prince reminds me of an actor who was a murderous blood covered psychopath in the last drama. So I was having whiplash because I kept expecting him to kill someone.
Well its only 26 episodes, I've seen the trailer which steers towards a light drama. So good for a marathon. I've decided to marathon it as the whole drama synopsis is already written there. No surprises so might as well wait.
Even I think this is a major spoiler because it just dropped and there were zero hints about this and you just…
There's only one family who fits this profile.
Thanks for the warning. Why am I not surprised at people- not you specifically- as I have seen it before in other dramas.
It's like this little hidden nugget by writers. The writer doesn't address the issue throughout the drama and then something you didn't think was important is used to tie up the loose ends at the end. Its like an unexpected prize. And people just blab it all out.
I am extremely happy then I watched the episodes before coming to MDL. I watched those episodes knowing nothing and I could just enjoy the story. Its a good thing to have the element of surprise. I feel sorry now for those who knew everything before watching the last several episodes. I want a happy resolution for any romance drama I watch. I don't want to know the specific plot points because there is nothing to look forward to.
Like honestly thank you for the warning. I will go back to rewatch my couples. And not read the comments here for a day or so.
Done. I did a review. I read several of the reviews. For those starting- there seems to be this trend for the…
By the way its actually kind of a mental relief not having to worry about a favourite character dying or having a arrow riddled death scene. Or being tortured or have the finger tortured method. Or being unloved. Or worry that the couple pairings not have screen time together.
Yes there were issues with the personal life beliefs of the viewers but that's expected when a story doesn't appeal to them. However at the end of the day this drama was only 2 1/2 weeks long. You got your drama fix for that timeframe.
For those wanting to marathon do it. For those who want a few episodes a day to entertain yourself at the end of a school or work day this drama will also be suitable to be watched it this format.
Now goddamit I have to try to find a new Cdrama to start.
Done. I did a review. I read several of the reviews.
For those starting- there seems to be this trend for the drama. The proportion of hate for this harmless drama seems out of proportion. There are so illogical reviews reviewing non-existent plot points that did not occur.
I am not a mindless fervent fan who loved this drama in spite of any flaws.
I can talk without spoilers. Facts. Its 36 episodes. Its pretty. The cast can act. There are multiple storylines. The family stays together. It did not let its family members down.
Was it flawless? No. Was it good? Yes? Did I regret wasting my evenings watching? No.
At the end of the day did you want a drama to watch? If you want an epic angsty, blood and gore revenge historical drama? Then no this drama is not for you.
However if you are like many others who want to watch a drama and are happy to be entertained and want to be confident the episodes 30- 36 still have new things to deliver to the climax? Then yes watch it.
Whining comments on this thread? We are all adults. I may have pointed stuff out in my other comments but there is nothing here that makes me stomp and rant or go on a rampage about. I honestly do not understand what some of the comments are on about.
By the way I watched 31- 36 in one go this morning. Didn't fast forward. Loved watching the other siblings and felt satisfied in rhe end. That's the feeling you want at the end of any drama? Did I want some things more than others? Yes. However wouldn't change anything because thank God the writer had enough experience to keep the story moving along.

Not in the other usual drama but dang.... you made it sound 18+ rated now.
Jang Won and the Grand Prince are played by actors in their mid- 20s. The other cast members are in their mid- 30s. The cast is not young.

I am looking for a new drama and thought the tags were errors but apparently not.
I actually came to see if the acting and writing was any good and still haven't found an answer in the comments.
How is this drama? Should I wait and binge?

Its like a punchline and any new viewers would not have the satisfaction finding it out for themselves
