Ignore of course. 21 episodes have aired. If they don't like it by now why bother engaging with them.
They are strangers. You don't care about their opinion do you? It doesn't affect your life so ignore them.
My job entails dealing with a lot of both verbal and sometimes physical assaults- am trained to deescalate of course so I really can ignore people I don't care about. So leave them be. They want attention and people to validate their opinions. We are international fans. Its not as if they directly contribute to ratings anyway.
look at this detailed chart.https://x.com/soonsetra/status/1884393769828864158/photo/1
The house was large. He was a magistrate but county magistrates don't routinely report to the King. She definitely called him 3rd brother which is odd because she shouldn't be addressing him like that as she is not related. His study is large as well.
The progression seems to be scholar, rich landowner, very rich merchant, official in a rich family but are they influential then lastly influencial but are there important ministers besides having a consort in the family.
That 5th BIL is paired with the youngest spoilt 16-17 year old.
Anyway, I am now going to watch ep 16 now that I've watched ep 19. I am sure the new romance will be rocky anyway since he was forced to propose.
1st. Bride switch but male side forced to propose. No mutual affection 2nd. Love at first sight he proposed. 1 sided affection 3rd. 2 proposals but mutual affection. 4th. Forced proposol. 1 sided attraction 5th. I heard its going to be the male chasing the girl? Is it going to be one sided? Can't be because there is not symetry. It must be mutual affection then?
Why did it take me so long to realize the writer purposely did an inverse hierarchy? The oldest sibling in a Confucian society has the highest rank and therefore has the most say. So if we use finances you'll notice the eldest brother in law to the 5th sister's future husband. I wonder what is the family background for the 4th suitor.
The writing is more organised than I thought. Each subsequent husband displays more emotion compared to the previous one. That means he has planned it so its not bits of random cliched scenarios. Looking at this I am going " oh my who is this Shen family? The guy keeps getting ambushed. " If older sister is 22 that means the 3rd sister who has been married is about 17 or 18 right?
If we use logic that means his story should be ep 20 to 27 and the 5th sister ends at ep 34 or 35 so we have time for a family episode on ep 36. There must be a family conflict at ep 35- 36. I am plotting it out now because I'm sick of the whining and laying it out clearly. There is also mentioned of some family conflict from the Shen family.
So our idealistic altruistic bookworm decides that the best way out is to bring a couple of sluts home, draw some…
Yeah sorry. Ep 16 irritated the heck out of me. More than the Du character. Gotta go work is a- calling.
It wasn't rubbish but missing. And its one of my pet peeves- American/English slang/phrases or lingo in the middle of a Chinese drama. Somewhere in the older comments there were specific comments on lines. It just makes the scene feel less dramatic.
So our idealistic altruistic bookworm decides that the best way out is to bring a couple of sluts home, draw some…
Its freaking boiling. The kids do something call aquatics in primary school. Think there is snorkelling, surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle board and plain swimming. Or something like that. We thought the school will cancel when the weather is that hot but apparently not.
The subtitles. God what the heck is happening with the subs on a Netflix? Its like they paid a college student who is better than Google translate but its pretty basic. They keep missing words and I absolutely loathe when people don't sub what was said and use the English phrases instead. I understand Mandarin and Korean. Not completely fluent but good enough to sub on viki once upon a time. The Netflix translator is skipping half the sentences in several incidences.
And yeah if something doesn't make sense I just go back to the scene and listen. That's why I read the spoilers. Slow down at the scenes I am interested in and get the story. I'm now off to check on Check in Hanyang. Now that is a drama which I've stopped watching but go to read spoilers.
So our idealistic altruistic bookworm decides that the best way out is to bring a couple of sluts home, draw some…
He probably doesn't know how to handle a couple of women. Like an experienced playboy would.
The divorce was his idea yes. Dumb yes. Did he think his mother would be upset? Yes. Did he think she would refuse to follow him? Probably not.
The whip thing? Now that was stupid writing because its out of character. Has he even whipped anyone before? Probably not.
Its like there is a plot going in his head and no one is following the script?
Why am I not so upset? Er... i was skip forwarding ep 16 and 17 and waiting for ep 21. Then marathoning 6 episodes at once.
Its also Monday and work is shit and I am busy doing a PP to do some staff teaching so my mind is switched off. Its also 40C today and I have 2 children doing snorkelling, surfing etc for a school excursion. So this little drama character? I practice disassociation quite well and am currently disassociated from this drama because I have work on my brain. I don't love it that much that I'm crying over it or expect perfection.
Sigh. Did you guys ever think that he is a young scholar FROM THE COUNTRY. Not the city capital.
Isolated. Has a blind mother right who was a washer woman. He was an orphan.
That means he was a bookworm. Probably had no childhood friends. All he has is " head " knowledge. He is good in poetry and painting.
You remember all the altruistic, idealistic young men who want to aspire to great deeds, who thinks justice will prevail?
Those sort of characters?
Then why the heck do you guys think he will suddenly develop EQ and knows how to behave and depend on others? He has his mother who depends on him. He has never learnt to depend on anyone.
You are all ascribing characteristics from some well adjusted, beloved by family and friends, confident, bold and brave man onto this skinny, naive, jealous young chap. He is behaving according to his character.
There isn't any recemption arc if there is NOTHING to improve on is there? Its like basic Writing novel 101.
Well that was very unexpected. I will now wait for tomorrow's episodes.
By the way this drama takes the cake for the consistent complaints. Previously in other dramas people just drop it. Here people are STAYING and then complaining.
I mean there are literally 10 dramas airing per week. Why do you all persist then complain? Drop it.
I normally don't say it because these statements will offend random strangers. I am honestly baffled. I dropped Everlasting Love and Blossoming Love just like that. I am not riddled with guilt or anything. I didn't bash the drama and just stopped watching.
Do people still think there is only one couple here? Hands up if anyone has watched an ensemble drama before? I have. Those KBS2 family dramas. I just have to suffer through everyone's scenes. Its what an ensemble drama is. Its not ONE couple.
Surely Perfect Match can't be your most disappointing drama? What did you do for your others? I mean... come on, its a historical drama. I don't want a modern vibe to it. I feel like saying " chill guys. Just step away if it makes you so upset. "
I've read through so many comments but haven't found one that discusses ep 16 and 17.
Ok that was an excellently done episode for a oft-used drama cliche.
It made my heart ( figuratively) feel the pain yet it wasn't slammed straight at the viewer but it just gradually built up throughout the whole drama arc.
don’t get me wrong I love ji yun but why would she be mad at eun ho for being saved by her father , it’s not…
You hated the person who caused your father to die.
Then you see him daily and love him. Every time you see now you are reminded.
When a parent dies there are days when you go along your day and life moves on. When you see him- you are reminded daily of your childhood after he left.
Its not logic we are talking about here but heartache. You can't tell your brain to not resent him and your emotions switch off like that.
😂😂😂 funnily enough my work and colleagues are the subject for exciting triller dramas., I meet tall good looking 180cm males who are super fit. Or go to the gym. They need to be. I also meet Special Forces soldiers and SWAT team people. I have worked in situations where I see a lot of Black Hawk helicopters and seen fighter jets. I love planes by the way. Fighter planes.
So a nice calm office romance is great. I enjoyed " I have a secret " or something like that. Or " a poem a day. " I find Perfect Match relaxing.

We already know the 5th BIL has imperial links.

Then we had the probable future family scene.
MAN the writer knows how to do a build up.
Then you see him daily and love him. Every time you see now you are reminded.

I thought Netflix subbers were paid by episode. Not lines. Its not quite Google Translate but ep 14 was moderately bad. The lines were subbedcfm
Er I must admit to ignoring the subs and trusting my ears so have ignored the errors and some of the subs diluted the meaning of the scenes.
So a nice calm office romance is great. I enjoyed " I have a secret " or something like that. Or " a poem a day. " I find Perfect Match relaxing.
