That was a totally tame standard Kdrama ending

How did the quirky show become just mundane? I won't bother with ep 9-11 if its just the couple being sappy. The ML is so sappy i cannot believe I am watching someone

What a dilemma. Watch ep 12 cold and be surprised.

Or read the comments and cursed. I stopped at ep 8 and read the comments from ep 9-11.

It's like peeling off a scab before its healed. Its going to be bleed, hurt and be messy for ep 12 isn't it?

The things you learnt from watching Kdramas.

I skipped ep 9 because I was busy then read the comments so skipped ep 10. Now I hear the ranting about ep 11 so skipping that. I only popped by yo ask about Park Seung Jae. Huh? Did I miss a character? I went to the cast list and read about his character. I had zero clue Ha Ri had a fiance. Did I miss him in ep 1-8?

Yup I rewatched their scenes together. Bai Hui's eyes were literally welling up. with emotions. Zeqiu is just the best supportive guy.

The main couple scene. Yup the director slowed it during the editing process. It was just too slowed down.

5 years for a PhD because she had a PhD when the scene transitions. All of you know that even if you go for an early admissions, honors and straight to PhD you don't complete it within 6 years.

Then she had 1 year away then 3 years later... he cannot be an eminent scientist within 3 years. Ok make it 4 because China has so many clever people he would have needed his PhD too.

Then doesn’t the brother have a massive apartment for someone only a year older than them? The costumes and props department were great but the writing team have got the timelines wrong. They would only be in their mid-20s for this whole story line. Shen is already only 5 years post grad. The US have a post- graduate medical programme. He couldn't have finished his undergrad then post grad and be experienced in 5 years.

I am just saying... I can suspend disbelief but the writers could have at least try to make it believable if they want to write about academic achievements. You can have clever main leads but do the research better.

I finished it and my conclusions for the clunky story is the director. The scene transitions are choppy maybe a 1/4 of the time but the personal scenes after ep 20 onwards are clunky. Its awkward and when they filmed it the pauses are just a second or 2 too long . The skinship scenes and they were hardly any- its definitely too awkward. That only comes when the director issues specific instructions.

Man what a waste of the cast. The actor playing the ML is not an acting genius but he could have been directed better. 28 episodes and there was only one good skinship scene but I was so tired of it all I couldn't be bothered.

However I finished it. Its not going to get a bad rating from me because it wasn't a bad drama overall. It just was terribly unexciting. I will end the series by rewatching the 2nd couple getting together again and then their ending in ep 28. That's my take on this drama. The 2nd couple were so sweet and I am happy they ended up together.

I am on episode 25 and actually finished it. Are the writers coy or something. How can a romance drama not have any romance?

Its ok. Its not terrible terrible just absolutely boring writing.

However the brother and her friend are absolutely adorable together. They had chemistry right from the start. They are just magnetic together. I like the brother very much as a brother and person.

Nvm I reached ep 19 and had to pause to laugh. Overseas medical degrees are 6 years if its undergrad level and 4 years if its done post grad. The UK system has a 5 year medical degree programme right?

A 5 year overseas medical grad comes back as an intern. Lol. I reached the
hospital scene. It is very funny.

I have been watching ep 1 to 18 in fits and starts because its so slow and the actors can't play high schoolers.

However now that the comments below confirmed Jin Bai Hui's romance I will soldier on. I did wonder if they would have a romance arc.

Hu Yu Tian has been wooden since his Go go squid days that I have zero expectations for him anyway so the main couple who can't even meet at the same wavelength is ok for me. I feel disconnected even as a viewer regarding any romance and will accept it if the drama said they are a couple. His expression is still the same short hair or scruffy. High school or adult. He is a good looking guy in his thirties but not believable as a high schooler or young adult under 25 years old.

At least I know its a happy ending. I will try to not fast t forward.

I am on ep 13 and currently stopped as I started Agent Kim Reactivated.

Agent Kim is great but exhausting when you're doing a marathon and have work and family.

I watched till ep 5 then had to peek at ep 10 just so I can sleep.

That is a very well paced and directed drama with a superb cast of actors.

I didn't understand the ending's significance so hopefully ep 6-10 will be enlightening.

Park Jun Cheol is such a supportive psycho friend that I can't look away.

Agent Kim really potrays a devoted father without all the histrionic. His tortured gaze has gotten me hooked.

Great show but now I am too tired for the weekend to do much cooking and shopping. Didn't expect it to be so addictive. I can usually pause for drama marathons.

PS- I read the comments. The drama has nuances. You’ll miss it if you walk away and just depend on hearing the conversations. The fight scene in the stolen phone warehouse was great. The upstairs and downstairs fight scenes in one frame. How the heck do you watch it if you are doing chores?

The backlit face for the ML then just the tears just coming down his face?

Geez. Are we watching the same drama? Head wounds bleed a lot. And then it dries. And people can come into the hospital the next day with dried blood and talk perfectly well. I am trying to recall if everyone needs to get a skull fracture if they hit the concrete or pavers/bricks in the garden bed. Not really. Not everyone gets a fractured skull. Go check with your ED friends.

Its a fast moving action thriller. Enjoy it for what it is. If you want something torturous you don’t go for a N Korean defector drama with more North Korean defectors dropping in and out of Seoul so casually. Geez.

I like this a lot but the streaming sites have this delay for Adblockers so it stops and starts. It is smootj streaming for me on viki so I have to be patient for viki to catch up.

I caught the preview monologue for ep 14- 15 accidentally online and I didn’t like that plot line. Its difficult streaming this MangoTV videos on streaming sites. It keeps stopping so I was going to watch when viki cathes up.

I mean I have heard his natural voice in other dramas. You mean he wasnt dubbed? I will go back to his other dramas and listen again.

The Shen and Di Nian actors are really young aren't they? I just finished Road to success so slightly disoriented with seeing the actor as a high schooler and now having a secondary romance line.

I was looking at the size of the throne room and going " wow the budget is really high. "

The production team has jammed the cast with good looking young men to the point I am going " is this an idol drama? "

The dubbing for Chen Zhe Yuan has really ruined the experience for me. He looks so slight and overwhelmed by his clothing colours yet the production team had a voice actor with a deep, commanding voice. The difference in the image is quite jarring.

I have caught up now and waiting for multiple episodes daily instead of single episodes over the weekend. Why is that?

The 2nd ML can't act except look pretty- his lipstick was distracting. However the characters themselves were well written.

The parents stories though were so sweet. I was caught by surprise. How can the dad NOT sound cheesy. Man they made me smile.

The secondary characters were so well cast. The other guy. All I can remember him as now is the " heol " guy in ep 9. He is a genuinely nice character. I also really like the fact that the FL is an engineering graduate vs someone from like a small regional university who had to claw her way in. I like having people with qualifications have their moments.

But yeah I also like the improbable cliched OTT romance dramas.

Eeeek. I just finished one drama yesterday and had nothing to watch. I am so happy to find this. Hallelujah man.

Yup. My mistake I apologise. There were a lot of coincidences. The drama made the FL very competent. Poor and diligent as per normal Kdrama.

The FL here is also competent, realistically flawed, more bold than I thought but yeah this drama is quiet. No big loud moments but like every office working day it just keeping moving along.

That was a typical Kdrama and all the improbable birth secrets and coincidences. The way the male lead fell for her as well.

This is actually the more realistic office romance. The way they got together and how capable she is in her job. The ML was also more likable as a person.
