Ok, reconstructing the food scene seems to be my obsession now.

Putting aside the smell of cooking giving away your position and defeating the squad putting up camouflaged tents and face paint aside ok?

Did you guys know that the Korean soldier have heat activated packs to heat up their army meals? They also have packs where you just pour in hot water to rehydrate meals.

Just sayin'

I know this is based on a manhwa. This episode made me laugh. This is a situation where dark lighting is justified. You know how you watch other dramas where the leads are walking in the dark but there are obvious spotlights around? This episode really had dark forests and trails. I chuckled quite a bit because the actors will think tbis is just like reservist training.

The parody for the Kpop group was quite, quite funny. I didn’t realise their short army hairstyles could be slicked into Kpop idol hair. That Major is the only one who had the smooth moves. Isn't he a musical actor? The actors were just a tad more stiff. I went to one of the largest S Korean military festival less than 2 years ago and watched the ordinary soldiers doing their Kpop performances. No they were not anyone famous doing their National Service. They were really dancing well and confidently. Its just in their hands, their slides and their body movement.

Man this drama is entertaining.

Yung Byung Hee is 44 and Jo Bok Rae is 39.

I have been watching dramas with actors their age and older.

So why is it I am freaking out- ok slighly perturbed- when they are wearing showing shoulders and arms and having a romantic storyline?

Its like discovering your grandfather has a libido or something. Their arms and physique look young but didn't they look after their complexions because they were always playing secondary characters?

Did you make it?
Not today because my persimmons were firm. I need to get down to the fresh fruit market to find those soft overripe persimmon. I actually have ALL the ingredients for tteokbokki except for the persimmon. I cannot work out if I would actually like the taste. If you didn't notice that tteokbokki is an extremely dark coloured sauce. Its not usually so dark.

Good grief. There really is a persimmon tteokbokki recipe.

Now what? I am a good cook and I can cook a nice tteokbokki and I have persimmons in my fridge. I am super tempted now to make. Its the firm variety though and apparently you cube it for crunch.

That's because this is an adaptation from manhwa titled "Kitchen Soldier" and it's genre is slice of life,…
Thanks. I will google the comic

This drama might actually be too exciting for me. They actually get into life threatening danger in every episode. That's a new concept to me.

I thought its just a time travel, transmigration chaebol drama but the brother is straight out evil. He is not even just trying to ruin him but to kill.

Geez.

And yeah those 2 together just light up the screen. He is all smouldering and grouchly grumpy and she is all fire and sass. Korean FLs are usually not sassy. They do the irritating helpless, goody 2 shoes, stupid, idiotic, arrogant, interfering, saint- like, powerless, oh- woe- is- me, bullied persona. This lady is just stomping all over everyone with a smile. And is it a smirk?

They make me laugh.

only on episode 35 but I gotta say I really couldn’t like the male lead too much, his character and personality…
Ci Sha is a man.

CYY is a man who can actually think. His looks actually matches the plot. I have seen generals and martial arts fighters who don't even look as if they have toned arms and zero quads.

He has chemistry with this FL.

He doesn't act childishly. He actually acts as if he has some brains to be a Minister and not those pretty boy actors who look 18 and then stomp and yell.

CYY is dependable and marriageable. He is the complete package. He also has some curl to his hair and it doesn't look like all hair extensions.

So yeah this actor is sexy as. Thank god he was in this drama because by God I love the actress too. The casting for this drama has been superb.

He is almost 30. He is a minister. Not a 22 year old actor. If you call a 29 year old man an Uncle then the age gap is real then because that's how old a CEO or boss man should be. Not a smooth complexion scrawny kid who only only knows how to sip whisky at a bar. Or someone who doesn’t know how to kiss. Or who is so young he is absolutely powerless and can't even kick anyone or fight because they are 180cm and only 60kg.

Yep, you're correct. Just said exactly the same thing further down. And yep, surprised that anyone would be surprised.
* its the fans*

I wasn't surprised. I was more surprised he had a heroic death and his story actually had a plot. I thought he was another 2ML story filler.

I’m also waiting for the last 5 episodes on Viki, but I’ll definitely leave a good review. I’ve seen other…
I mean 35 good episodes are 35 good episodes.

I think relatively low number of people died. The acting was good, the costumes and background was absolutely spot on perfect. The directing was good.

The ones that gets higher are some of the trillers or investigative dramas but they are no t the genre I like.

Its been a great historical drama. Didn't anyone realise that this drama didn't have any bad actors? If the writing became a little meandering its because people wanted things to go a certain way.

The freaking number of last 2 min reunion, open ended endings, people giving up their family or titles, living in exile, changing their identity, living in seclusion, everyone in their family dying? There are astounding numbers of mediocre dramas.

This wasn't one of those.

Can someone who likes the drama do the reviews because it sure isn't being done by those who liked the whole series.

I am waiting for episodes to drop on viki.

I stopped at ep 25 last week and only watched ep 26 to 32 yesterday. I read some spoilers yesterday and ran to ep 34's ending.

I am busy today so will keep ep 32 to 40 till tomorrow so I can marathon in peace.

The reason I posted is that I didn't understand this spoiler. What does FH stand for?

I will now stop reading
spoilers so I can enjoy the
8 episodes in peace. I have
been really satisfied with
this drama. It has kept my
interest for 32 episodes.
That is amazing in itself. It
has to be sky falling down
bad for me to rant when
ep 40 ends.

I am now going back to My Royal Nemesis, Perfect Crown and Zhan Zhao adventures. Plus finishing off ep 46-73 of The Story of Ming Lan.

Does anyone have any other drama to recommend? I will have nothing except the Zhan Zhao Adventures next week and the 2 Kdramas. I don't see anything except the new Yang Zi and Elvis drama. Is that any good? Thanks.

Or.... I could just rewatch this but I don’t think so because I do like Ci Sha but I need to see him in a different role

They had enough daytime bedroom breaks post marriage. I didn't know why he was surprised. I was surprised at how many bedroom moments there were in ep 31 and 32.

Kdramas shows couples brushing teeth, going for walks, cooking and this drama had constant conversations stopping because they start kissing.

The actors might have wanted to show their comedy acting skills. Normally, I would drop a silly drama in the first…
I cannot work out if this is like a sci- fic webtoon or what?

Is Kanglim a camp where they put soldiers who are at risk of suicide or what?

That's why I am staying. I cannot work out what I am watching.

I thought I was missing something in ep 1 but I have finished ep 4. What made me think this was an ordinary Kdrama?

Its weird as shit and I am looking at the fine supporting cast and them obviously acting with a green screen. Those are experienced supporting cast. I was laughing so hard at their antics. Its this after the Yoona and the culinary drama? The ML in that drama was good. The director is obviously going for campy and cheesy. I think the director is responsible for some of the choices he approved of. There is campy and then there is tacky. This drama's CGI verging on tacky.

However the supporting cast is stellar. The ML can act. There must be a reason why they all chose this script. I just have to trust that they like the storyline and the script.

Okay but where did the horse and the ocean come from all of a sudden 😅
There is this overheight shot of the capital city....

Then we have cliffs and dirt pathways. Even Tongzhua was a port?

And then there is the wide long beach with beautiful waves.🤣🤣😂😂

I bet even the actors said " wtf " then enjoyed the day off at the bea h.

Honestly Chen Xuan Qing is wrong but understandable. Imagine having no control over your life, your uncle makes…
He wasn't forced to marry. He made a choice to save himself by marrying into the Yu family.

There are people in rea life who chooses the easier path then feel as if they are victimised. I see it now amongst people I meet. Then they justify their actions using that as an excuse. So " nah " not feeling sorry.

And oh yeah if you don't expressly say something to the girl its a one side love. So " nah. " No guts no glory.

Am on ep 17 now this ML is totally unlikeable, not married but he is keeping a mistress and has son and daughter…
Yeah what the heck do people think the chambermaids are? And childhood betrothals. The men married when they were boys. Those older females are brutal. I can't even watch the torture scenes by women. They are worse than men.

I didn’t want to tell her/him my grandfather had 4 wives and it was openly acknowledged. So did other relatives. The family was rich enough to afford it. And I am not even living during the Ming Dynasty.

Then you better not watch historical dramas then. Its a lie if a Cdrama potrays a single man.

He is supposed to be younger in age but they used an older actor.

A mistress is the same as a concubine to me. He is above 20 years old.

I respect your opinion just stating some common historical drama themes. I am also used to multiple wives culturally. I don’t agree with it but its not an unknown concept.

I see him alone in the beginning OST. I assume he will be alone. There is no romance tag.
I have to google this series. I am on ep u and its so much talking. Then fighting. Then talking. Then fighting.

I am not sure how much longer I can last. I can't even work out if there is a plot worth talking about.
