The fight scenes are fine. Sorta. The camerawork is a bit clunky. I am commenting because I wasn't expecting it to be having funny angles, close ups etc.
I literally cannot work out why this wuxia feels so disjointed. I am not even expecting any romance because there is no romance tags. He is also shown alone in both beginning and ending.
Is that Hao girl alright? She is a bit dense isn't she?
Different vibes. However based on the current epiaodes I have watched- that ML is confident and supportive. He doesn't have the looks I like but completely suited to the role and the main couple have chemistry.
I have marathoned The Story of Ming Lan from ep 1-45 over the weekend. I am emotionally wrung out.
I need a payback if I watched todays episodes or wait till ep 40 airs.
Otherwise would head over to the Yang Yang dramas.
I think I have ODed over stepmothers. I cannot even remember what JZ's father and stepmother looks like. Its evil, bitchy, underhanded, killing, torture, dying or unrequited female leads.... from 2 dramas. I am literally drained as a viewer.
There's Gu, Chen, Ye here. Then there is Gu, Sheng, Qing, Yan, Liang, Wen and who else? Both fathers are officials. I am getting the Ministry they are in mixed up. This GJZ has the 3rd sister and brother? The other has the 4th and 5th sister?
Are you guys watching any on-air C-dramas aside from Splendid Match? I’m really enjoying these daily watch-party…
The story of Ming Lan. I am now ep 26 and the main couple are nowhere near the flirting stage.
However the brisk storytelling pace is phenomenal. Its a 2018 drama and looks set to become not my favourite drama but certainly in the top 5 for welll written ensemble cast drama.
The story of Ming Lan is my favourite Chinese drama.
Its long man. I don't watch long dramas so being on ep 6 is killing me. I watched ep 63-65 to check out the vibes and liked it enough to check out from ep 1.
Episode 11 is just the right balance and break. I am returning to ep 6 and onwar d this week end.
I will tell you though that this drama has an absolute gem. The kid playing the King. My god he is phenomenal for his age. His acting is superb.
Hi. I won't want specific spoilers and even big spoilers.
I just want to know if there is drama every moment till the end from the novel. Yes I know its different especially for the half sister and cousin.
I have finished ep 25. I wasn't expecting the fallout from 2 secondary male characters.
I mean I know that the wedding is this Sunday.... I want happy wedding prep and sweet coy moments.
I am tensed up instead waiting for Ye Xian's big meltdown and confrontation. Then add on the engaged adopted nephew. Or the adopted nephew who is engaged. You know who I mean.
The old fart hadn't even been taken down yet. The Hu guy, the sea route etc.
Ep 23 made me smile. Ep 24 made me laugh. The cousin- I wasn't expecting an actual catfight. I didn't even know I would enjoy watching it. I have been some evil secondary characters but its like watching a young *b___ch * before they grow old and become the resident evil witch in other drmaas.
How is the chemistry and romance so far? I have not watched it
This drama?
Slow burn. Just wait and watch. It has the correct amount of main couple, interesting plot, good writing and terrific costumes and directing. Its a win for me and I am notoriously picky.
Hope you enjoy. It's a true slow burn but I thought the payoff in later episodes was quite good. The cast is very…
I actually am tense already from ep 1. I don't know what the people are talking about. Its an ensemble cast so am perfectly happy at present. In a tense expecting disaster sort of way.
I'm so smitten with this male lead. I absolutely love how he always seems to have everything under control in…
I cannot even see any pretty boy actors at present because of Ci Sha. I had forgotten what a man looks like after all the foundation heavy, skinny male leads.

I have an opinion and have no time to whine. I am also starting The Story of Ming Lan and My Royal Nemesis
I like my balance of drama life. Some light. One crazy. One super long 73 episodes.
So different tastes for different viewers.
I am trying to work out how Qi Heng fits into the whole picture with the bitchy 4th sister.
