It doesn't matter what her motives are. The key issue is that she is treating him differently because of his hearing which is what she's accusing everyone else of doing. Little Miss Know It All is a hypocrite.
She's patronising like she knows better because, her hearing impairement is more profound? We forget that she is a year younger and this is someone she is meant to show respect and yet she constantly disrespects a senior by treating him like he doesn't know any better.
