This drama is not just a romance, but it's no exaggeration to call it a human drama. I think it tells the viewer a fantasy yet somewhat similarity to actual history of ancient Chinese (like around the 3 kingdoms ) through the lives of the main couple.
And the most memorable part up to episode 30 was when Wei Shan's grandmother admonished him, saying, "If you abandon your enemy, you will be in the same like them. Let's repay hatred with kindness".
Furthermore, he is able to avoid going down the wrong path, thanks to the presence of not only his grandmother but also his advisor GY. And most of all, FL was destined to marry the ML in order to correct her grandmother's past mistakes and dissolve the hatred that has existed in ML's heart since childhood. This was the only way her grandfather could repay the Wei of his mistake.
Director, please please make every main and sub-characters to live happily forever after. Please don't screw up the ending !

Agree, Daqiao and her husband's current peaceful life are owed to Manman. Bcoz in early episode, Manman sacrificed herself to wed Wei Shao instead of Daqiao. Now Manman asked her help, yet Daqiao is continue to be selfish and she only thinks their own happiness. By bringing a roll like Daqiao that contrasts with Manman, it certainly make Manman look like an angel to people of all lands!

Ep 30 What a great battlefield scene! It was so realistic. They used so many extras and used many horses. Camera is focused on all main and sub characters. And most of all, thank you Director, NO ones were shaaaaaaa! Some S class drama used animation of such scenes, but this drama was well done with real people!

Well, as long as what I learn from other C-drama, it's a customary in ancient China to mourn when person looses family, and sometimes it can be three years, This time, it was her grandpa, and also she was married to someone who hated her, so I'd say it was safe for her to stay away from it as long as possible, I'd asked the same if I were her, maybe longer since I don't know what kind of husband he is ๐ It was a obvious excuse for Manman to observe who he is. Too bad some viewers feel 'suffering and dragging', but it was a realistic slow burn romance to me and I am really enjoying it though.

Peter Ho (Mr. Zhenshi) is a former heartthrob in singing industry and he became pretty famous in other asian countries. Speaks fluent in ENG and he will be 50 this year. What a great guest star in this drama and he played such a perfect roll! Comedy elements in each episodes bring such a joy!
I finally started to read the original novel. Oh boy, it has total 171 chapters and it must have been very very hard to squeeze into only 36 episode. Raise the glasses to director and screen writer of this drama!
I am glad that this drama is built around romance, so the political intrigue doesn't drag on and on, and it's nice that it comes to a conclusion quickly and without a lot of bloodshed. After a short plotting scene, you can quickly focus back to romance right away! The script is written in such a way that you can guess most of the backstory of the political intrigue, so there is no need to pry into the details. There is no need for such complicated explanations in this romance.
Either way, there are so many other great dramas that are focussed on political scripts as the center of the story, so I am enjoying this romance focused drama with lots of heart throbbing moments ! I am sure there are lots of you who are like me and truly enjoying this drama !!
