What a great drama. I love the few comedic elements and ML/FL chemistry are great. Story line gives me anxiety for future episodes of this whole set up as husband and wife.

This post did spoil the identity of FL 😂 I could guess from the story line but book hid that quite long so well.

You are correct. In the book XL made the blood jewel looks like red pearl with blood from XY then gave it to merman, so that it will save Jing's life. I just wish the S2 was 35 eps as production original submitted. It was cut down to only 23! I'm sure they had to edit a lot to squeeze into 23 eps 😭

In my home country, it was very common to marry among close relatives in ancient time to secure their blood lines. Even in the Egyptian ancient time too. So you cannot compare with modern moral and ethics I guess, and some comments were written here very harshly criticizing about it or showed dislike, but this is a fantasy drama! The writer can create any character as they wish. TH did great job creating such versatile characters!

Hi there 🤚 I think as I remember in the book, CX was consummating with YY(queen) on wedding day when CX says XY's name, he will need to have an heir so no love towards to all wives but he will have heir for sure since he has at least like 9 wives?! 😆 But CX lost XY forever and he may not find true love. I just hope he will move on and find his love ! Book is so well written !

It was XY's tear (from S1) that she shed on the shell boat and XL turned it to pearl and kept it until the end. I believe that represents XY's love to XL so he put that into his body/soul as forever love.

I agree, I'm not sad for XL. He chose his fate but he now learned to LOVE and he did everything for his love. And his love is forever in happy land and in peace. And he is in many of our heart forever 💕

First thanks to many of you who replied me back to my questions. Your replies really help me to understand the story better. From the beginning to the end, it was such a journey. The drama may have changed at key section, but I enjoyed the drama as is. And Tong Hua is such a wonderful writer. Thanks to her book ❤️ Otherwise this drama won't exist !

I think she did twice. Once in S1 and she shed tear then it turned into pearl. And she cried in S2 after she found out XL died in battlefield.

Thx, I remembered from S1 and XL kept it all this time. Pearl usually represents happy things so I think it was love from XY to XL I guess. I just wanted to hear what others thought of pearl and why he put into his eyes. I don't think it was in the original book.

It's usually said that ' The beauty of pearls also represents eternal love as one of the oldest gemstones'. In my home country says the same and 'Pearl' represents LOVE. Is that what XL's pearl means????

Both are written by same author, TONG HUA. You have same taste as mine.

If you like this drama, I recommend Korean drama called Moon Lovers. It's also written by Tong Hua. There is original C-drama 'Scarlet Heart', but I liked Korean remake Moon Lover better. Check it out !
