Thx, I remembered from S1 and XL kept it all this time. Pearl usually represents happy things so I think it was love from XY to XL I guess. I just wanted to hear what others thought of pearl and why he put into his eyes. I don't think it was in the original book.

It's usually said that ' The beauty of pearls also represents eternal love as one of the oldest gemstones'. In my home country says the same and 'Pearl' represents LOVE. Is that what XL's pearl means????

Both are written by same author, TONG HUA. You have same taste as mine.

If you like this drama, I recommend Korean drama called Moon Lovers. It's also written by Tong Hua. There is original C-drama 'Scarlet Heart', but I liked Korean remake Moon Lover better. Check it out !

Thx, and yes you are right. According to writer of LYF, TH, CX is the ML, and he lost his love forever, that is XY. Oh well, let's see how this drama will end.

Thx for reply. I saw the leaked scrip column here but I didn't want to read it. I thought it was very odd in ep 18 that XY suddenly figured out CX was behind the assassination of TSJ. No wonder I felt very odd with the story line. So the S2 isn't really like the novel. S1 was very close to the novel though. I wonder if the no. of eps were cut down from 35 to 23 caused a bit of mess here.Oh well, if it isn't CX in drama, then there maybe no poisoning by XY... That was a real highlight of the novel to me... I am curious how this will end since the course of story may change drastically 😆 Thx again 👋

In DRAMA ; Fangfeng Yi (FFYY) used her son to bring out Jing & XY because she conspired with Tushan Hou who wants to kill Jing . It ended up making Jing to be almost got killed by Hou, and FFYY changed her mind at last minutes and she killed Hou. And all of these conspiracies were arranged by CX and XY found out about it. I got really confused to read the comments here because some wrote it was FFYY who tried to kill XY instead of XinYue, the queen.

In BOOK ; I remember in the book it was CX arranged the killing of Jing using FengLong. And it was XinYue, the queen who tried to kill XY because she was jealous of XY who CX only loves. XY survived assassination by queen at the sea because XL saved her.

Hopefully someone can answer me again about the story line conflict between book vs. drama. It's been a year since I read novel and I am mixing up the story lines. Pls read below SPOILER and rely me back. THX

#14.... Can someone tell me the meaning of the pearl that XL hold in his hand? I think it's from S1 that is one drop of tear shed from XY's eye . XL kept it until now. There are many meanings of tear pearl and I am not sure what is it in Chinese story (myth) . Thx

Novel readers, pls tell me if King of Haoling had to kill his siblings to unite his country? Did he kill his father too, to take over the seat? Did he invade other countries and killed many ? I think he isn't the evil king but no choice to do harsh things to bring the peace like what CX is trying to do. Thx

Agree. I read the novel. And including S1, I think drama scrips are similar to original. The novel is such a wonderful work so I am glad they may stick around as same as novel. BUT you will never know what the outcome will be since this is C-drama 😂 I just hope no drastic difference.

Yes as you wrote I think XY thinks XL as cold hearted demon but XL is hiding his true feeling. I think XL's true feeling towards XY is what FFB showed during S1. What I want to know is if XY knows XL and FFB has same heart.

But while I am replying you back I realized that XY doesn't know XL has only ONE heart. XY said she would never cry when XL dies, but she cried when FFB died. So I think XY thinks FFB is different person from XL. Anyway, I hope anyone else has other thoughts I'd like to hear. Thanks!
