i watched it in one sitting cause it was entertaining and only 12 epis but i must say the plot is too easy and tropey. Too many plot holes esp at the first 2 episodes and sumore at the end
Why in all school c-dramas FL has to be bottom of the class while ml top of the class it’s getting old
Exactly! or if in the rare occasion the FL is smart, she's overly reserved and pensive. In reality the brightest minds in school often comes with a bright personality too so I'm not sure what sample of society the chinese dramas are picking from.
Whilst watching this drama I can't help but find China does family dramas very well. The plots sounded pretty boring I almost skipped this but I was engaged from epi 1 - the pacing was perfect. The marriage dynamics of the first couple is pretty realistic as I have friends like that - the husbands are faaaaar less driven and also less capable than the wives and don't care much for traditional male roles. The 2nd couple is also realistic as I lived with families like that too - chauvinism is very accepted . During Chinese New Year, the women do everything whilst the men sit around and talk and drink lol.
The unrealistic part is the Chen San's law firm arch nemesis. Also the housewives of cash rich chauvinistic husbands in real life don't suddenly unravel like Wu Min after 20 yrs. The reason why their husbands spiral into such a state after all these years is because they accepted it for a v long time and they didn't fight back because ...well...it didn't bother them too much.
wait until you watch Japanese dramas that only air once a week ;D
Oh yes! I do indeed but in recent years I wait till episode 7 or 8 before starting depending on the story line lol. Most of theirs are just 10 episodes and much of the drama storylines don't pull my suspense cord until i become a non-functioning mess ( except dramas like Watashitachi Wa Douka Shiteru which is awesome )
Love revenge initiated plots. The only complaint i have so far is the broadcasting schedule is too infrequent for a 40 episode drama. The suspense might kill.
Hmm... looking at the first several episodes of this drama, the synopsis is a bit.. "off" and far less melo than the drama actually has been. Its also a further cry than the original novel. I hope it doesn't follow the novel too much.
I think Wallace has earned the Nation's Ex-Bf title by now lol... he's had more such roles under his belt than any other actor!
Am I the only one who feels like HJ’s doctor brother was/is kinda interested in HW? They have better chemistry…
I think the script is as such that HJ's bro and HW have a connection going on... if it were a 100 episode makjang am sure HW will find solace in HJ's bro and realise you can't judge a person ( HJ and WJ) unless you walk a mile in their shoes hahaha
Does anyone remember Valid Love.. this drama feels a lot like it just with a more poignant mood.Love this drama,…
They are all guilty of not being able to control their own emotions WJ- lack of control, used HW's feelings HJ - lack of control, cheated on her husband HW- lack of control, proceeds to hurt everyone including children just because she emotionally invested in the wrong guy. Infidelity is as old as mankind, surely she was aware of such risks.
HW used the term 'victim' on herself......well... HJ was a victim of a bad tutoring arrangement. WJ was a victim of his dad issues manifesting in lack of empathy for HW and his obsession for HJ Everyone's a victim, its just whether they'd burn the whole village down together with them.
HW should have kept the issue between the 3 of them rather involve all and sundry. Even if HJ never appeared in their lives, WJ didn't love HW as he never drew her face when he could have ( she had a head start in his life but didnt leave a mark ). HW should just run WJ and HJ over with a car and be done with it.
Agreed. In fact, many lead actresses in movies with mature content practically catapulted into popularity thereafter eg. Lim Ji Yeon, Kim Go Eun, Cho Yeo Jung, Song Ji Hyo, .. and for some its just business as usual eg.....Bae Doo Na .....all incredibly respected and given versatile roles
Yumi's elevator area speech - I almost stood up and clapped!
I can't believe the writer of the webtoon is a guy. I've seen female-perspective works by male writers and it can be really .....superficial. Not this writer, gosh he got the female cell and male cell perspective so spot on in some episodes it struck raw chords! Must have been female in his past life and remembered it lol.
Am ambivalent about Woong actually....i just like their chemistry! As for Babi.....is it just me or do I feel he is kinda a schemer ( not that he schemed against Yumi's best interests but its more like a prevailing behavorial trait that whilst can be worked for romantic purposes, it can also ennd up being misused when the relationship head south )
I feel like Woong was destined to be with Sae Yi instead, Yumi just looks like the person in between them rn.…
There was never a Woong and Sae Yi though? It was just Woong being Woong and Sae Yi being vain and self absorbed. And then she became scheming when she's not the only female in Woong's life. Woong was a lot more go-getter with Yumi
i was like that too at first (when i was reading the webtoon) but trust me, you'll get over it and realize why…
I agree on the chemistry bit. Its quite electric so I hope the drama is radically different from the webtoon. Hopefully they don't have the budget for too many male leads lol

Love this drama, so beautifully shot and omg the tension.
