Agreed. Furthermore, its not a breakup ...it was a divorce...and literally a split second decision. Probably fastest divorce in dramaworld lol. I'm also under the impression that the gaming industry is actually his job...I remember it being alluded to - don't think he holds a regular office job? His overarching issue was being rather chauvinistic - he was more rooted in their respective gender roles, hence taking her for granted, and that manner of communication. I guess she felt like he was another Maria...having been disregarded and feeling small at work and then coming home to feel insignificant again. I do think a split is imminent, just that it could have been more gracious - not just telling him that that thought of living like this till 80 makes her shudder. Within his realm of what love is, I do think he was sincere about her and for her to walk out just like that after living together for aeons....

Gosh we're down to the last episode. Quite a bit of loose ends to tie up, dodgy employees that needs to be sorted out, SX-HM line....the mystery of why they have a He Cong Rong which pretty much could have not been there and saved them money from hiring an actor that has played lead role before. At least in the novel he had quite a meaty part towards the end. No way they can write this into the 1 finale episode.

I agree. I would have liked her to develop her strength on her own two feet but after 30+ episodes the only opportunities and visibility she has been granted was given by SX and the President ( which I must say she did not exactly merit in a professional manner) I find her occasional sparks and dedication a bit contrived ( just written in by the producers for the sake of plot development) eg when she had a meeting with the President the first time along with Maria and demonstrated non-myopic thinking; when she froze to death at the registration counter. Whilst she was working with SX there were some communication blunders which then negates her as a key strategic contributor to SX's business recommendation. Of course she was always squashed by Maria but haven't we all been in that space. I must say I am also disappointed in the President for his unfathomable attention towards her. There's gotta at least 100 Hong Mei's in the organisation - his regard for her doesn't jive with his regard for talent ( look at SX and XM)

I felt the political move would have lost its validity when the uncle died and the Cui family was no longer 'relevant', With that, I'm thinking it would have made more sense for her to take an oath of celibacy ( since Nanfeng Prince has taken an oath of celibacy anyway) and to do her historical record keeping without any threat of being ordered to marry someone else. At epi 14 currently. I am not clear about Shiyi's a purpose/ goal - like what is her raison d'etre at this stage? Even though they have a master -student relationship, there wasn't much mentoring as he was away most times. When he was back, not much mentoring either save for one or two random life quotes. With this it doesn't look like she is in a learning stage. Is she just hanging around him hoping for an official acknowledgement of their relationship?

Its in Chinese. Actually after I read the novel I wished I didn't. Its not identical and I suspect certain elements of the novel cannot be translated into a drama anyway or the audience will hate the leads. The leads in the novel are a lot more frustrating and already the drama doesn't follow the novel's loveline.

Does anyone else find the President's screaming at his board of directors somewhat sexy lol.... If i had a CEO like him , I wouldn't mind being screamed at everyday....

Gosh her working life is so tough. I feel exhausted just watching all her struggles. Am watching this back to back with Remembrance of Things Past and concurrently Ideal City. I feel like I have 3 jobs lol. Will need a vacation after this!

It has a happy ending. Just that the drama isn't following the novel entirely but regardless I'm sure the ending will also be happy

I find it strange that people pointed fingers at her when he collapsed in her office. I mean if someone that age and looking that unhealthy collapses in my colleagues office.... it would never have crossed my mind that my colleague caused it. Its not like sha has the authority to waive corporate debts. Imagine if all debtors in town has a heart problem, does it mean no one can ever serve them a debt repayment notice in case they get a heart attack?

She didn't betray him though. She genuinely wanted to stay on wavered at the president's words. Wang Yang was disappointed because he lost a talent ( tbh he supports her only because she is talented and had proven herself to be useful to him, not out of pure kindness anyway) but he understood that the president saw through her.

Not translated. It iis in chinese. In the novel, during the pivotal Yin Hai annual dinner Su Xiao didn't get together with Xia Ming at that point. He also went abroad post that dinner and was away for a very long time. The whole uncle showdown did happen in the novel too.

Does anyone find the scene in the peach blossom grove familiar?? That must be why the producers decided to cast Mark Chao for the role!
