Its taking a slightly different direction from the novel. I'm glad they are putting Mark Chao to good use. Was a bit worried that Betty-Mark Chao pairing would be like Betty - Luo Jin pairing in her previous drama where despite a romance line they maintain exceedingly conservative distance!
Happy with Mark's gratuitous broody shower scene though the camera could pan a bit lower ....
Episode 10 is ironically the most boring of all the episodes.
As i watched I 1. Didnt want her to end up with Jae Eon 2. Didn't want her to end up with Do Hyuk 3. Didn't want her to end up alone
Its so botched. No ending feels right lol.
I guess its just a very simple plotline of a girl and her perception of what is sincerity. Thank god its just 10 episodes but i will rate it high for the sexual tension factor
Love this drama, very realistic portrayal of a conglomerate, the internal runnings and issues. Memories! ( not so accurate portrayal of the construction industry I think).
This drama reminds me of another Betty drama - I will find you a better home. Very trade centric with also a fellow 'senior' actor. I guess there won't be much skinship to their romance unlike TMOPB since both are now parents. I'm glad Mark Chao has better hair and clothes here lol.
For those who have initially struggled through the drama but is enjoying the later episodes.... any advice which epi onwards I can watch ? I prefer a more grippy angsty emotive pace.
Does anyone share a thought that the writer will further romanticise JE's character ( eg, he liked Nabi from her ex's exhibition and probably collected butterflies and tattooed one on his neck post the exhibition encounter etc... every step of the way he knew who she was and sought her out even before they met at the bar) JE is a no, because he's a gaslighter on top of having double standards ( he can flirt, be ambiguous and clandestine but she HAS to accommodate him in her life, give him status updates - seriously what happened to free will and a level playing field )
Sadly I can't root for DH either - Nabi isn't sexually attracted to him so with that, they might as well be just friends right?
Question : I saw lots of comments bout DH being obsessed. Isn't what DH is doing normal for a hot blooded youth who bumped into his first love and wants to pursue her in little ways? eg having meals together, walking her home up to a certain distance, texting and calling. Also him posing questions of JE to Nabi which is food for thought is something most friends do as well when they talk about their love interests.
In real life, guys have done this and I've perceived this to be normal ( how do youths pursue each other these days lol ) and DH did take it down a notch after that weekend rejection from Nabi.
Oh thank God for subs! Like many of you I really don't know how this is gonna wrap up in epi 10. They are giving JE so much airtime right up to know that the laws of Kdrama requires Nabi to end up with JE even in an ambiguous fashion.
It will be very very hard for Nabi not to sway in epi 10 since she's slept with JE many times and 0 times with DH. The power of physical intimacy is what is making Nabi so enthralled with JE. DH should just ..i dunno..flaunt his abs or sthing with Nabi.
I guess people are still into Prince Charming type of Main Leads. I actually really like this drama as it is a…
My beef with JE is that he seems to be a ...gaslighter. Its perfectly fine to not want to be in a relationship but enjoy the flirtations and physical connections. Nabi realised she isn't fine and wants to break off from such a relationship and conveyed it to JE in episode 5. His last comment to her was emotional blackmail and of double standards. If he is anti-committed relationship and she is anti-noncommital relationships he ought to have just respected her boundaries and not act puzzled as to why she doesn't want to be physical anymore with him?
I found this drama incorporated some novel elements ( childcare , career, company policies, confinement centres ) alongside good acting chops. It is a good watch.
Technical values aside, the strange thing about this drama is that I didn't realise how covertly misogynistic the writing direction of this drama ( perhaps unintentional) seems to be until I finished all the episodes and had flashbacks of everything put together. The women here for most parts were portrayed in an extremist fashion ( you have essentially 2 versions of feminism here - feminist career woman, feminist homemaker - by feminism I don't mean feminist activism. More like an exulted version of their values as a woman ). It feels a bit like propoganda - and definitely a zero for women, none of the female characters are inspiring. At least in Crossroad Bistrol I decided that You Shan Shan is my role model lol, just a poorer version
Wow the ratings went down another notch. I might be the only one feeling quite pleased with the last episode? Reason being
- Dong Ma's topless body was so hot even his housekeeper averted her gaze lol. I hope he continues working out like this in S3. I think its environmentally friendly for him to remain topless. - YS pining for ex-wife and having to deal with 2 psychos - professor got dumped (when his car was parked by Han Gang I wondered if he was gonna drive the car into the river) - Nam Ga Bin was a miserable wreck - Ji A got possessed
There's too much of a dreamlike sequence for all the marriages to be real. The ending wedding scenes felt more like a foreboding of some of new paths crossing and the characters' subsequent fantasies which I find would make a nice comeuppance.
- A Mi meets Sa Hun and is out to steal him from Song Won ( or Sa Hun being tempted is great too!) - SPY and Dong Ma looks slightly mismatched age-wise but he's hot so am happy if it materializes, either way it means their paths will cross - Seo Ban may be Song Won's fantasy but even if its vice versa i like where its headed.
Usually when couples act sweeter than candy in K dramas, its a foreboding of an eventual split. No director would put that much effort in sweetening specific couples without it being a scene setter of something darker to come.
I do stand by the writer's sense of eventual justice based on her previous works which I enjoyed watching.
it doesnt look good to me! and how would a product thats for the neck (wrinkles) be mild enough to use in the…
The only drawback for me is hygiene factor too. I'd probably move from eye to face to lips and neck and then wipe it on a tissue before going thru the same motion again.
are we going to get Season 3 cause it feels every arc is going to end up in cliffhanger and there are many things…
Maybe all 3 wives will just be single alongside Seo Ban... Like Charlie's Angels..
It did cross my mind that the writer is purposely doing this so that there is audience pressure for s3 ( unfinished karma business) ...its more money for her

Actually I think there was a bit of noble idiocy at epi 15 no? Coming frm Yutu, though shortlived.
