Finished yesterday, after binging for the last few days all episodes, first run through. I really enjoyed this drama. I think I may have officially found my preference in C Dramas, historical political costume dramas (with slight romance or more). Most of the dramas I have liked have been these kinds of dramas. I love all the backstabbing, revengey, twisty plotty stuff.

Overall this drama was done really well. The chemistry, the costumes, the choreography, the story was one of the best I have seen honestly since LLTG. I actually cried in this drama and I don't cry for dramas, this was only the third time that any actor/actress has made me cry. I agree with a lot of what others have been saying about the ending. (**spoiler in reply**) Other than the ending, it was a great drama. I love when the acting is so good you hate the villain characters, that's when you know they do their job well.

I have tried watching Viki's dramas with comments on, but they get to distracting and since I have to read subs at the same time, it is to hard to watch. If there is a particular scene I might turn the comments on, but most of the time they are off for me.

The next few I am looking forward to is Zhao Lu Si's The Pearl Girl, Bail Lu's Moonlight Mystique, and possibly Dylan Wang's Guardians of the Dafeng. I don't know if any of these will come close to topping this one, but I think The Pearl Girl might.

I agree. I would have been fine if they had of ended the drama after their wedding. I don't know why we needed to see them go off to fight. IMO, that was unnecessary.

I was thinking these thoughts as well. WRTW was originally a very female centric story, but when Yang Yang joined the cast they changed it to be a more male centric story. ZLS is wonderful as Bai Fengxi, but they did not give her enough in WRTW, imo. Although, I still really enjoyed the drama.

My favorite is The Sword and the Brocade followed by Under the Power. I actually liked The Fox's Summer, I just didn't really like her ML in it. I know everyone loves Go Ahead and I have tried several several times to watch it and I just can't get into it myself. I don't know why. I really am enjoying ABAY. I was skeptical about her chemistry with Xu Kai, but it is actually really working here and most of his dramas are hit or miss with me.

Very well said and I agree. My favorite are the looks the ML gives the FL after they banter and she starts to walk away. WXY's little smirky looks are everything.

at episode 31 now, haven't FF yet, I may actually finish it tonight, every single episode always has something intriguing happening, truly enjoying it.

Currently on episode 28, this is now the 3rd time I have teared up and cried because of a drama, the acting is so good. It is usually really hard for me to get that emotional, but this drama is doing it.

Thank you for the recommendation with Glass Mask, will check it out. Also, no I haven't watched Imperfect Us, another for me to check out. I have been on an Asian drama break lately, cause for some reason I can't find anything that is grabbing my attention, but I will check these two out.

Finally started this drama a few days ago and I literally can't stop watching. The storyline is so intriguing, I am loving it so much. I have to say this initially was giving me The Princess Wei Young vibes, but the story itself is completely different. The acting is so good. Wu Jin Yan has always been hit or miss in her dramas, but she is doing a phenomenal job so far in this drama and I am enjoying her chemistry with Wang Xing Yue. I am currently on episode 25 and I am loving it so much I want to fast forward to the end to see what happens but I don't want to miss any of the story, so will just wait it out.

I agree with you. I have been on a huge C Drama hiatus, at least a few months (also waiting for this drama to finish so I could binge it). I just haven't found anything lately to keep my interest. I just started watching The Double a couple of days ago and can't stop watching it. The acting, the story, the drama and the costumes and everything has just been so compelling to watch and I am thoroughly enjoying it so much.

Yes I agree, after first watching Hana Yori Dango in Japanese, I switched over to watching Taiwanese Dramas and loved them all. I would follow anything with Ariel Lin, Rainie Yang, Mike He, Kingone Wang and a few others.
I also was hoping they would do more with Skip Beat, it is one of my all time favorite mangas. I watched the anime and the live action.

My very first Asian drama was the J Drama Hana Yori Dango, absolutely loved it. After that moved onto Taiwanese dramas with Devil Beside You, stayed with Taiwanese dramas for a long time. My first K Drama was Dream High. My first C Drama was Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms.

I forgot about Xiao Zhan. I loved her with him in Oh, My Emperor! I think they would be a good pairing in their own drama with him as a ML as well.

I hate that Bai Lu, Xu Kai and a few others are under Yu Zheng. I am not a fan of his at all.

I have a few, but my tops are as follows:

Xu Kai ( I know they did a movie together, but I think they need a drama)
Wang Yibo (although his fandom may run her through the mud)
Zhang Ling He
Dylan Wang
Ryan Cheng
Zhang Zhe Han (if he ever gets to return to dramas)

I follow ZZH on insta and everytime I see his posts, I think he would make a great ML for ZLS. I would love for him to make a comeback and star with her.

I think they are just bringing this in to create more drama. I thought MCH already had enough on her plate now she is having to help her BF with her business as well.
