Why do you hate South Korea?

Respectfully, I gotta disagree with you on this. The Korean version may be male centered but I wouldn’t call it a reverse-harem. She isn’t paired with all the guys. And that’s coming from someone who didn’t even like the show that much 😅

That’s fair. I can see how some wouldn’t like that type of plot line.

I will say, I’ve only watched the Korean version, and maybe the Chinese version is a lot different in this regard, but as someone who enjoys reverse-harem media, I wouldn’t call the Korean version a reverse harem. It felt like the standard main male lead vs 2nd male lead with who actually pursues the FL. It’s definitely not that simple of a plot, but it’s not like she is being romantically paired with each of the princes at the very least.

I won’t say anything more to avoid spoilers but yeah if the Thai adaptation is similar to the Korean I think it should be fine to watch in that regard.

I do think that tag should be removed on the Korean Scarlet Hearts page though. I never noticed the tag before but maybe I just never checked it when I watched it 😅

The Chinese and Korean versions aren’t reverse harems, so most likely this won’t be either.

And on the other side, if your partner doesn’t want to have sex with you anymore, and it's damaging your relationship, rather than cheat on them, you can break up and start a new relationship with someone more compatible.

I’d recommend Candy Color Paradox. I thought he was good in that show. But I also think he was good in this show so 😅

Yikes! I knew there were also children that were taken from families and “adopted” by families abroad so that makes sense that there were other penalties instead of just getting an abortion.

I guess I just figured they would address it in the show since it is a cultural difference due to government policy but I guess they just didn’t find it necessary.

I am all for tragic endings, but I don’t think the writing and pacing were consistent enough to warrant a season 2. Personally it felt like once Heo Ildo died, the plot started to flounder.

That’s why I said the “average” K-Drama. 16 is the standard or at least has been for awhile. 18-20 is also common as well as 12. And for Korean BLs I notice they are often 8 and have much shorter run times.

I haven't watched the show but have a friend who has. Could someone clarify do Jian Bing and Jian Shuang have the same mom? I'm just confused because the One Child Policy didn't end until 2015 and if the younger sister is in college (18-22 years old) and if we put present day at 2023, she would've been born before the policy ended (2001-2005). Was this just because the drama was adapted from a Taiwanese one? Or are they step siblings in this version?

I completely agree. While sure it’s good to say “Don’t even start with drugs because addiction sucks” they just made a hopeless ending. giving Loony a happy ending wouldn’t have made it seem like drug addiction is some easy thing to overcome.

Also I’m sorry but the way they set it up made no sense? A sting operation to catch a drug addict by giving them drugs they wouldn’t have had otherwise. I understand he could’ve gotten them elsewhere but the police should be more focused on the guy providing the drugs than the one taking them.

So frustrating all around….

I honestly have no idea what the scriptwriter was thinking. Over halfway through and I just…. what is going on? it feels like all the negative things about fanfiction squished together. And I say this as someone who loves fanfiction and thinks there are quality stories made by fans.
