This might be a dumb question… but who exactly is the Xia clan? I’m on episode 15, and I don’t think I’ve seen a particular person or group that has been specifically identified as part of the Xia clan unless they’re all somehow related to the Xia clan? Or did I miss it? Are all of the “good” guys part of the Xia clan? Are they like the “royal” family of the sects? Why are all of the groups protecting the Xia clan in particular?
After reading several reviews and comments on here and viki, I expected this drama to be pretty bad, but surprisingly so far, it’s not as horrible as the comments and reviews have made it seem. I’m only on episode 5 though, and maybe it’s because I started watching it with low expectations to begin with. I’m also not a big fan of Dilraba just in general, so her being a main lead isn’t influencing me to like the drama more. The transitions between scenes and storylines could be a lot smoother though. As far as the propaganda, countries aren’t normally going to diss themselves, and they will promote themselves and that’s not exclusive to China.
I enjoyed this drama overall, but you can tell they cut out some scenes. Since there is a restriction on how many episodes chinese dramas can be I wish that they would let them be 45-50 episodes instead of 40. Having those few extra episodes could just make some dramas smoother and better flowing.
I think Hou Ming Hao has been improving as an actor, and I enjoy his performances for the most part. But sometimes, not all of the time, I feel like when he does a serious, upset, angry, etc expression he just looks like he’s constipated. He does well with the soft, loving looks, but some of his other expressions I feel are off a bit.
just in case anybody missed it, don’t forget to watch the scene after the credits on the last episode. it’s approximately the last 1:30 mins of the last episode. i just rewatched this series, and i really hope they make a season 3.
excited to see jiang long and zhang ling he! both are talented actors who bring something special to the parts they play. i don’t think i’ve seen jiang long in a main role yet, so i’m really excited to see him here.
i can’t wait to see this. ren jia lun and song zu er are both talented actors. personally i don’t care if there is romance in it or not; i’m just excited to see this drama in general. just in general… romance comes in many forms and can be expressed in many ways, and imo ren jia lun does a nice job portraying them. just because other actors do something like kissing or sex scenes, does not mean that all actors should have to do them. same goes for other things in life. just because other people do things does not mean that others should do them too. you don’t need to follow what other people think or do. do whatever is best for you and your life.
i enjoyed this drama overall. i thought rachel momo, liu guan lin, peng bo, feng jian yu, du jin han, ning xin, kara wai, and qin lan, just to name a few, did an excellent job in this drama.
