after seeing him in back from the brink, i was excited to see him in more dramas. sad to know he has passed away and so young to have a heart attack at 25 years old. makes you wonder if or what other factors caused that. rest in peace.
i thought the female lead’s voice sounded familiar. the voice actress has worked on many dramas. interesting how sometimes i thought her voice was annoying like in journey of chongzi, sometimes she has done a girly yet not childish sounding voice like in the sleuth of the ming dynasty, etc. i wish more directors or whoever would choose for her to do the non-annoying voices though.
i wasn’t planning on binging this all at once, but i ended up watching 20 episodes in only a couple of days. lol i’m loving the fact that some of the characters are kind of gray instead of just distinctly black or white, good or evil. will hopefully lead to some interesting character development. it does have some similar vibes as the blood of youth, nirvana in fire, sword snow stride, etc, and i’m loving it. wasn’t expecting the romance to be so prominent, cute, and sweet in it, but i’m all for it in this drama. loving the actors in this drama from chen xiao, rachel momo, liu guan lin, peng bo, huang hai bing, peng bo, feng jian yu, du jin han, qin lan, etc. the chemistry between all of the cast members is amazing.
i find it disappointing that so many viewers are now opting to not watch it at all or are choosing to skip the last episodes after choosing to read a couple of comments and/or reviews which say it has a “bad ending” instead of watching it for themselves and forming their own opinions about it. people need to watch and see things for themselves instead of just being influenced by others’ thoughts and opinions. there have been plenty of dramas, movies, and books that have gotten low reviews, ratings, and/or comments that i have enjoyed, and there have been several dramas, movies, and books with high ratings/reviews that i didn’t like or enjoy. learn to think for yourselves and form your own opinions and interpretations of things.
I just put it in but FYI you must have a credible source link or it will be rejected. I quoted where it appears…
i’ve used dramawiki as a source for some cast members on some dramas before. sometimes it’s gotten approved using dramawiki, and sometimes it hasn’t. some of the moderators seem to prefer official chinese links instead and don’t count dramawiki as an official or reliable source.

could you do the same for qin lan/su huai ruo too please? can’t read chinese and the opening credits aren’t translated to english where i’m watching it. while i’ve needed to submit links or timestamps for some cast member changes on some dramas, it hasn’t been required consistently all of the time. thanks for your help.
someone please put actor peng bo who plays mo bu fan/guanghui bank yuntai sect as a supporting cast member versus a guest role. he has more screen time than several of the people listed as supporting roles. the moderator rejected my edit, and he deserves the correct credit for his role. edit: he’s been added now. thanks to peachblossomgoddess for the assist.
“anyone else feel like it was copying Ashes of Love (when the leads go to the mortal world for their trials..). Sigh.” saw this comment on another board. to anybody else who has similar thoughts… going to the mortal world for trials is a common theme in many xianxia dramas. to say it’s copying AOL just because of that… lol
thanks to all mdl users for another enjoyable discussion experience, and thanks to the novel readers for helping to explain things. to those who didn’t like the drama or the ending, i hope you have better luck on another drama you are currently viewing or watch in the future.
just in general, does anybody know if there is a better english resource to use other than dramawiki to see if and who they used for the voice actors? tia

jun jiu ling, fake princess, court lady, maiden holmes, and royal rumours all have happy endings.
the blood of youth has an overall happy ending too. it has a lot less romance in it versus the other ones depending on what you’re in the mood for. hope you find one you like.
i thought this was an interesting view of the ending since many people are unhappy/upset with the ending.
written by egz on viki, “The point of the story is about personal growth, finding satisfying relationship, acceptance of self, courage to face responsibility, collective efforts plus personal tenacity to do the impossible. Suppose all of these are achieved, I would consider it a full circle, a very happy ending. Sorry, maybe I don’t believe the author is trying to write a fairy tale romantic story, so i am more accepting of the ending as the story offers.”
