i started watching this when it was airing and didn’t really like it. decided to give it another go while waiting on episodes for till the end of the moon, and i’m really enjoying it. it definitely has some similarities as some other xianxia dramas, but that seems pretty common nowadays.

somebody please let me know if this gets english subtitles on youku. thank you.

just curious… what are you guys watching while waiting for episodes, or just another drama you’re currently watching? can be something old, new, currently on air, asian, english speaking, or from anywhere.

i forgot how beautiful and fitting the osts were for this drama. some of the songs enhance the mood of scenes really well.

i’m frustrated that ye xi wu didn’t tell anybody about ye bing chang poisoning ttj and their grandmother. ybc is a horrible person, and people deserve to know. she could have told pian ran right when she woke up, told ttj later, etc.

as many times as i’ve watched this, i’ve always wished that they went into song woo bin’s story more. they go into it a bit but not as much as the other characters. this drama definitely has one of the most recognizable osts. while some other dramas have a couple of songs that people recognize, this drama is packed full of them.

she’s not only beautiful but also talented. i wish they used a different picture of her here though.

rewatching this after a long while and the timed comments on viki are interesting to say the least. i normally don’t keep them on all the time but will during certain scenes. interesting that people expect son oh kong to be “nice” and never say or do anything mean or hurtful to jin sun mi when she is literally holding him prisoner with the bracelet and forcing him to do things and feel things. i’ve seen plenty of other asian shows where the female is being held “captive” by a male, and whenever the captive female says something hurtful or does something mean or spiteful to the male, they say the male deserves it or they say to do something hurtful or mean to the male. or when the nice/good male is held captive by the mean/bad female, and he says things that are mean, hurtful, etc to the “bad” female. regardless of who is the “good” person in this drama and what real feelings might be growing or will happen later, son oh kong is still a captive and being forced to do and feel things.

does anybody ever wonder or think about scenarios with those “magic artifacts” like the necklace that sang you gave to sang jiu, so she could see what they were doing anytime? like what if she peeked and saw one of them during sex or while naked? same with shows that have it where the person can just say the person’s name, think about them, blow out a “candle”, etc like in goblin and hwayugi/a korean odyssey like what if they called them when they were in the middle of taking a shower or taking a dump. i feel like they should have a knock knock or “warning sign” saying this person is about to call you or what you are about to see might not be suitable to watch. lol

i love a good cdrama that not only has awesome main characters but also interesting and fun supporting characters. nian bai yu and pian ran and the actors playing them definitely do their parts and help keep this drama interesting and fun.

since it’s a trilogy, are they going to shoot season 2&3 together?

he’s such a diverse actor and picks such interesting roles and scripts. always a pleasure to watch him and his portrayal of the characters.

i might be the only one, but it bothers me seeing so much incorrect information about this drama being passed around on the viki discussion area. lol

for future reference, you can check the air dates by looking at the box, by the synopsis, that’s at the top right of the page labeled “details.” it includes: name of drama, country it’s from, number of episodes, dates it airs/aired, days it airs/aired, original network, average number of mins per episode, and content rating.

if ye bing chang stole/took the love threads from jiang rou, pian ran’s husband, how did she recognize pian ran when she saw her? did she see a painting or picture of her? or something different happened?
