14 episodes was a good length for this drama. i’m glad they didn’t drag it out more or add more side stories to it. some of the subject matter went over my head at times, but it was still enjoyable to watch. nice to see wang yang and zhang ruo yun in a drama together again. good for a first watch but probably wouldn’t watch it again.

while this isn’t a cute lovey dovey romance, the feelings of partnership and working together, friendship, protecting each other, supporting and encouraging each other, etc are there. there are many different types of romances and relationships in life and in dramas. while this drama might not be for everybody, i like this drama and the pacing of it.

good job in our blooming youth. hope to continue seeing him in more roles.

i love many of the works she’s screenwritten. hope to continue seeing her work.

he always does such a good job bringing something interesting to the roles he chooses. hope to see him in bigger roles soon.

i hope she has had time to reflect on herself and her past actions and will come back a better person. everybody has a past, and everybody makes mistakes. regardless of her past actions, she’s a talented actress.

when they are reading the royal decree to hua liu li, is the translation “crown princess” correct? i don’t speak mandarin, but it doesn’t sound like the crown princess title, titze fei (sp?), i’ve heard before. the characters also don’t seem to be reacting to something that i would assume would be a royal marriage announcement if it were actually crown princess. their reactions just seems like it is an upgrade to her previous princess title/status but not quite royal marriage announcement yet.

question about episode 17.

as many times as i’ve rewatched this and don’t get me wrong, i love this drama, but one thing always bothers me about it, how skinny some of the horses are. i posted something about it before, and somebody tried to justify it by saying it might be because they are older horses. i’ve seen some senior horses, and none of them were even close to looking as skinny as some of these horses in this drama. but it could be because they are senior horses and/or because they are underfed too. personally, i have more of an issue with people consistently underfeeding animals versus a one time accident that injures or kills an animal. neither one is good or right, but one seems to be more of poor planning versus consistent longterm abuse by underfeeding to starving them.

sad that people still bully/cyberbully others by calling them ugly. just because a person isn’t your type, you aren’t attracted to them, they don’t fit your beauty/physical standards, etc doesn’t make them ugly. it can be very telling of one’s character by how they treat others though. personally, i think jin han is attractive in a manly way, and i think he’s even more talented as an actor. i like the way he takes on a wide range of characters from good to evil and in different genres.
