loved him in the long ballad and the starry love. hope to seeing him in bigger roles.

while i understand how stereotypes can be hurtful at times, this movie is based on real events… so if you don’t like the fact that maybe certain people, groups, etc are going to be portrayed a certain way in it, it is what it is, and you might not want to watch it then.

love how he plays a wide range of characters. he does so well playing the bad guy and the cute endearing guy too.

just to clarify, is lay still part of exo? i haven’t seen him do anything with them in awhile, and i haven’t seen anything officially stating that he’s left exo but maybe i’m just looking in the wrong places…

just curious, but does anybody know if there’s some reason or significance for jackson yee/li bi’s hair ornament, the stick part, to be facing front to back vs side to side, or was it just a stylistic choice? most costume/period cdramas i’ve seen have it where the stick part of the ornament is side to side or going from ear to ear instead of front to back like his is in this drama.

it didn’t follow the usual tropes of:
1. a female childhood friend that is obsessively in love with a male lead.
2. a royal uncle or relative who is secretly evil or plotting for power in the background against his brother or nephews.

two things i liked about this cdrama because it didn’t follow the usual tropes found in many costume/period cdramas that are:

he’s such a talented actor. hope to see him in some bigger roles soon.

i’d like to see him in a good modern day spy series with lots of action.

kudos to the casting director. they did such a good job picking the right people for the characters from the main leads to all of the supporting roles.

i might have missed it, but what happened to the real wen ying? he was the real leader of the snow chanting pavilion, and then mu yan took over his identity, right? did mu yan kill the real wen ying, or what happened to the real wen ying?

somebody please add li shi peng to the cast. he plays wen jun’s guard/attendant. i tried to add him and ran into some issues with the mdl volunteer, so somebody else please add him as he deserves the credit for his role. thank you.
