They need to translate ALL the interviews!! They're so explosive together, in each one. These are two actors who…
I think as well her other co-star where either older or just didn't have such an instant connection with her. They just look so comfortable together, there's no sense of them being on guard with each other. It's like that subconscious sixth sense that sometimes you get with someone and you know you'll get along with them.

Kekeke...his character is of a weak man. He has no backbone. He is ok if everything is normal and ok. Even if…
Agreed and to be frank I'm still waiting to see what the whole point of having him as a character was in this drama. He doesn't really have a use towards moving the story along and since he's always the one that misses that main moments, it's like he's some third secondary character that just has no contribution at all other than to be a indecisive wishy-washy coward, and constantly in the scene simply cause of his relationship with either Changge or Leyan and by extension Haodu. I mean I'm trying to recall a scene where he is independent from these three and just can't remember any. Except for the scene with his father which just highlights how so much can go wrong even if you share blood with such a great man. He's just worries about EVERYTHING but doesn't DO anything about those worries! Such a man lacking action is truly sad, especially compared to Sun and Changge who are such individuals of conviction and action. He definitely doesn't like Leyan in the same way as she is infatuated/in love with him. I think because he likes Changge and he knows how important Leyan is to her, as well as his background growing up with the two girls, he feels he needs to step up and be the big brother protector (which he fails at!). Let's just hope he doesn't decide to marry Leyan as a form of consolation. I feel like the only way he'll redeem himself is by dying to protect someone important at this point.
I did just think of how maybe he's the representation of the 'path of inaction' and it's destructiveness (reminds me of the story of the drowning man). Although I am no specialist on this buddhist philosophy and I've been trying to find out more about it. Just food for thought maybe...

Guys, I need something to tide me over until Monday. Something, anything. I have not been obsessed with a drama…
I just started Love Like a White Jade to tide me over a bit. Figured I'd try a comedy, instead to relieve some of the more serious emotions and obsessions I feel for this drama.

Here's the Dilraba's interview about Changge and I love how she points out that Changge has constantly been facing the loss of those she loves and cares for so has learned to shut out everyone as a way to survive and avoid further pain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulIuUbhnwA0

I agree. So much of this show is a rendition of how the historical circumstances of politics, war, and tragedy were the norm of being a women, tools to be use, disregarded, and discarded based on the whims of their families,

So mad at chang ge right now, after that fight in episode 23 how could she treat Sun like that?!? What happen…
I completely understand the frustration. I think we as the viewer have so much more insight and sympathy with Sun, in particular cause we have the added element of knowing Sun likes her romantically but my way of trying to understand Changge is that she's a women of conviction trying to survive in a man's world were she been treaty as expendable. For her in that moment, the possibility of romance with Sun wasn't something she was capable of accepting or wanted to accepted even, especially with him being the 'enemy' general. To her the highest order of business was to work towards the benefit of the Tang Dynasty, admittedly she went about it in a stupid, reckless plan that was doomed to fail from the start (wish the script writer had done better), but her character truthfully hasn't change much since the start. Driven by hatred and revenge, she has a very one-sided blinkered view of the world. As well I'm pretty sure she has a bunch of mental issues such as PTSD, survivors guilt, borderline suicidal, etc that add to the recklessness, lack of clear mind thinking, and disregard for those who care for her. I wish we had more insight into her mindset (like a dialogue as to what she's thinking). This is the unfortunate downside to the show (the manhua does this a lot better). This whole arc, it's the wake up call towards a huge change in her character (hopefully the scriptwriter will show this properly) which can be seen in ep 30.

Well some of the show discussion say they'll end up married and have a son and daughter hehe. :) In one of the preview clips or trailers, there is a scene showing AS and Changge in Tang clothes in front of her mother's mausoleum and AS says something along the lines of "It's the first time your mother has met me I have to make a good impression" (which translate in my opinion to basically mean "I need to make a good impression on the mother-in-law"). So I'm not too worries about not getting a happy ending. Somehow I have a feeling that after all the angst, struggles, and hardships that these two have to go through that it will all work out. It helps that judging by what happens in the manhua, this whole revenge against Li Shimin, isn't going to last (saw the preview for it as well and the change in Changge happens around ep 30). Also Leyan and Haodu get their happy ending too.
This is the clip I mentioned that has that line at around 2:56: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u11Uers16EY
Also has the actors talk about their characters love for each other and a lot of other nice romantic moments. ;)

Ending is uncertain at this point, but there are some preview clips and discussion about that show that says it is a happy ending.

Thank you! That's a pity for Qu Chuxiao. I really liked him in the Bloody Romance. Hope things pick up for him soon then. I had been wondering why I haven't seen him in dramas lately.

Who was the original actor suppose to be? I love Leo Wu in this, but curious as to who they had considered casting before. At the start I also found his youthful appearance to be somewhat weird, but his acting skills have definitely made up for it big time! He has such a nuanced and expressive portrayal of the character that just draws me in. :D

I just came here to rant about him. He is making me so angry. The doctor said if it's treated right now it's not…
He's so highly unethical for not telling Fu Jing Chun about his foot! It's not his body, so it shouldn't have been his decision alone. Also seriously his lack of impartiality towards other players (in particularly Xu Tan and Yu Ke Nan in Ep 27 with his mean set down of the two) on the team would I think be grounds for firing him as a coach. Everybody to him is only there to help train Fu Jing Chun. I sympathise with Fu Jing Chun, but his coach is terrible! I'm hoping he gets kicked out soon too.
