Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
Changge's Knight 3 giving the attendance here: You have no right to be pissed at her for saving an old man who's…
I agree with your point. Her execution though understandable is frustrating, especially cause it differ from the characterisation of her as being smart and capable of intricate mechanisms by think like 10 steps ahead of everyone else. This is the part that differs a great deal from the manhua. Like I feel the scriptwriter just made her way more reckless than she needed to be so that A'sun could come save her. I really don't like how they wrote this save the general arc. I am not saying Changge is perfect and I completely understand her mental state and trauma; it's just the plot could have chosen to make her rise to the occasion instead of becoming the one in need of saving/protecting (seems like a convenient slight damsels in distress trop). Likewise there are also similar problems with the characterisation of A'sun being so focused on saving Changge that he completely throws away his friends and the Eagles (which is very contrary to the manhua).

I have tried very valiantly to divorce the manhua from the show, but sometimes looking at how the characters come out in this show, it's literally impossible not to see how the show writers smooshed these characters into more convenient plot lines that make their romance more central to the story. So much obvious fan servicing here

Question for anyone who has understood this moment. At the end of episode 31, the little prince says something…
Hehehe lol
The crown prince is basically saying that he snuck out in the middle of the night and came to the Drinking Pavilion cause he heard someone mention that there were some famous dancers from Xiyu. Changge turns to A'sun basically like "did you know about this?!?!". That's why he's shaking his head emphatically. She jealous :D

Ah thanks! I thought the cloth she gave him was the one she embroidered but didn't make the connection. Obviously not a good idea to watch this with a headache, feels like I missed a lot.

Can someone explain why she gets mad and slaps him for giving her the embroidered cloth at the end of episode 3? I'm not sure if I missed something, but is it cause she thinks that he revealed the secrets to their Fu family embroider to outsiders?

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
It's the Sui conspiracy arc. Madame Jinse is an agent of Khutan and she was sent to kidnap the crown prince and…
Haha the conversation with Li Jing!
Li Jing basically has been trying to get A'sun to tell him the identity of who he's looking for person. A'sun refuses, but makes a comparison about Li Jing and his own wife, which makes Li Jing guess that A'sun is look for a women. So he says "I will help you find the person you love (also could be kinda translated as the person your heart has chosen)." A'sun kinda has this moment of realisation that "I'm in love with her" here. Li Jing then goes on saying to A'sun: she must be a looker, you care about her in particular and don't every want to be apart from her, no other women can compare, you want to stay with her for the rest of your life till old age and death. He also mentions how she must have a temper, but you still just want to choose this young woman anyways. A'sun respond with "she's not a young woman". Li Jing says "than is it an older woman. You have interesting taste." A'sun cuts in "She is an indomitable woman". *swoon*

Happy to do so! It's given me an outlet to discuss these episodes. I'm very conscious that a lot of people on here probably haven't been able to see ep 30-36 yet so been trying to not comment on stuff from these episodes as I don't want to spoil too much. Also it was really enjoyable translating some stuff, as there's just so many goodies in these episodes that I am dying to share with you guys :)

Exactly, and with a slow burner romance it feels like the relationship that's achieved is more valuable because we were with them every step of the way. Often times I feel like the worst thing is not just boring romance, but also too good slow burn romance coupled by the sudden boredom or fizzle out of a story after the couple ends up together. It's like the thrill and tension that kept the momentum of a story going is no longer there, yet there's 20 more episodes to watch so you have to find ways to keep yourself interested. Happened for me with Bones.

Yeah Mimi just never had a chance. Doubly tragic is that the threat or hope of her brother having a better life is never realised either (at least in the manhua) as he had already died before her. When someone threatens you or gives you a deal in exchange for someone you love, there is never a happy ending, cause the bargain to begin with is either too good to be true or it was never meant to be a fair deal. Unfortunately a bargain with the devil is still a bargain. My heart strings were tugged cause I knew about her tragic end in the manhua, but her romance with Mujin made me have a sliver of hope that maybe this time would be different. :'( Reminds me of the tragic romance between Yin Chang Ge and Xie Jiang Er in Love in Between.

That's very true and I really liked how the actor brought out his guilt and remorse, including the self-reflections of what if's about his brother-relationship with A'sun, just wonderful. The upcoming episodes will be interesting though because there's the added dimension of realising his mother is not the innocent victim in all this. Like the realisation that how much of the animosity between A'sun and She'er is very much a product of both his father's pressure to be better and his mother's scheme to put him on top. That's another added dimension to his character journey.
I understand though, I can't help love a bad boy too :)

Oh you are going to love watching ep 31-33 then in it's full glory. There are so many subtle nudges between A'sun and Changge that practically shout "I LIKE YOU". Also in the preview for episode 38 he's writing a letter to her and judging by the half finished character he probably wrote "I miss you" *heart palpitation of excitement*
I love slow burner romance
Here's the link to the preview for episode 37-42: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1NV411J7o3?p=2

I think Mimi didn't intentionally contaminate the division as she doesn't seem to fully understand that the disease is transmitted by body fluids (there a scene where she dumps the water she used to help wash the boy with outside and a child accidentally trips and lands in the water). But there is this internal conflict going on for her, as she's been reminded that she is a spy by her master. She knows her role as a spy is a threat to the Eagles and wonders whether she should confess or not. She's come to care for them and they care for her in return so these kinds of bonds, in particular with Mujin, are a pressure and guilt for her to bear. She's being torn between protecting the life of her brother and the lives of her new family. I read a review-discussion that quoted her saying something along the lines of "the only out for me is death". :(

Uncle Pusaaaaaaaaaaa is Richard Wang from in a class of her own! Okay, satisfied :'3 I'm so glad they kept this…
Is he the guy that played Lei Ao?! The one that I felt had way more chemistry with the fl lol
Oh wow this is an interesting choice. I feel like he's perfect for the role, based on both looks but also my first impression of him and his interactions with Changge as they're exchanging words for the first time made me flash back to the character in the manhua. So hoping they do the character justice!

It's unfortunate, he is only a side character. I feel like the next few episodes 37-42 you will see some interesting character internal-struggle/conflict with him. At least in the preview clip for ep 40 I saw his discomfort with his mother's power play and scheming mechanisms. I feel like if we got a story from his perspective as the ML it would be really interesting. Hope to see him redeem himself a bit for his role in Aye'er's death.

Yes I very much don't blame her or think she's evil in that one-dimensional sense. She is a product of the experiences and pains of being a princess from the previous dynasty living amongst foreigners. So I get way she has become a dark soul. It's interesting to think of her as the foil to Changge cause they have such similar experiences, but ultimately one chose to rise above her tragedy and trauma, while the other is still stuck in her pain and anger leading her to believe that anything justifies her grab for power even if her son is uncomfortable with what she's doing.

Of course I don't mind! I'm happy to share. I just hope everything makes sense. First time doing such a major translation haha :)
1: Firstly drinking entwined is something that couples do sometimes during a wedding ceremony. So Changge basically responds with "I am thankful but I haven't agreed to pledge to spend the rest of my life with you." He responds with "well who's going to be disadvantaged is yet to be certain." It's a joke about how they owe each other a debt for saving each others lives thus A'sun means its uncertain who's going to come out of their bargain with a short stick basically. My other less literal translation of what he says is "it's uncertain who is going to be taking advantage of who".
2: A'sun is mad at her for saying they no longer owe each other (from the previous episode, I think), basically meaning they no longer have any ties and can part ways. He angrily says I remember everything and I refuse to let you server the ties between us. So she agrees with him and promises not to do so and that whoever goes back on their word is a small dog.
3: The man playing Go (it's not chess, but it is a strategy game like chess) with A'sun is Li Jing, a famous general during the Tang Dynasty, another nod to the history
4. The teenager is the other Uyghur princess from the southern tribe.
5. Changge had to go to Mobei to get a specific medicinal plant that is used to treat the illness (looks like smallpox, but when I looked up the English translation of the mandarin it's just a general high fever disease called febrile disease) going around the Eagles camp

My Favorite Pusa quote “Though your looks may be average, you’ve got a good head on your shoulders. In the end, you’ve inherited the intelligence of our tribe and the craftiness of the Han.” The expression on Changge's face haha

I know right! Their uncle-niece relationship was so refreshing and funny. Both of them are so sarcastic and smart-asses with each other, you can just tell that they're related, even if they don't look alike.

I like Sheer!!! Help! ...............
He's not the main architect of everyone's misery, he's just the unfortunate pawn with feelings of inferiority, jealousy, cowardly and childishness that lead him to do rash and petty things that result in tragedy. I feel like I am coming to appreciate him more as he changes after Aye'er's death. He's not a genuine bad person, just misguided.
His mother however is a piece of work. Love how she rationalises her actions as being all for her son, but I think she's also got her own inferiority issues and personal experience that have shaped her into the two faced snake that wants power.

It's tragic and doubly so cause the Khutan admits that Aye'er was what she considered one of her closest friend/companion yet she's been lying to Aye'er and pretending to be a victim this entire time. Makes me wonder if Aye'er purposefully suicided, not just because of wanting to protect A'sun's pride and keep them from using her as a chess piece/hostage against him, but also cause maybe she wanted him to get away from all the mechanisms and manipulations going on as she nows it would only be through her death that he would be freed from his obligations to the Khan. Ultimately she just wanted him to be happy, truly an heart-rending act of a mother's selfless love in the end *cry*
