The Wolf was much better IMO, mostly because of Darren. I'm on episode 16 here and I am feeling the drag and it's…
Thanks. Lusi is doing a great job as Leyan. She is pulling off a damsel in distress character maintaining an adorable image rather than being annoying. I want to see more scenes of Dilraba and Lusi together in the drama tbh. Love to see them together. Also its really rare for two big name actresses to be in the same drama.

Don't want to pit two queens against each other etc etc, but Dilraba pulls off her youthful character more convincingly…
Glad to see a person with the same sentiment. I did mention the misogyny in a different comment. Its a whole double-ended misogyny at play indeed. If you look at how everyone drools over VengoReba ship never talking about how older he is than her. But instantly thinks Wu Lei can't be paired up with her as she's just 7years older. Initially I thought Wu Lei would be badmouthed more for being young for the role but now that he is pulling off the character so well, all the hate is on Dilraba for being older than him, older looking, older than her character, hair strands, blah blah blah.... Basically, there is only one conclusion, actresses have it harder and get hate for disgusting reasons that actors never seem to get. Specially, Dilraba gets too much unwanted hatred which to this day, I can't fathom why.

I’ve seen loads of people mention the two strands of hair, and I just don’t understand how hard can it be…
AvenueX says in her youtube channel why they couldn't change her style if they could change the story. She suggested Dilraba's look in Eternal love suits her.
So every drama will have an actress look the same? And Changge wouldn't look like Changge without the strands of hair. All the costumes and hairstyles of the characters of the drama stay true to the manhua, the female lead's one is a must in this.

To all the people who likes Zhao Lusi and thinks she's not 'green tea' (someone pretending to be innocent but…
This ship war and fan wars are completely unnecessary when everyone including Dilraba and Lusi are doing amazing pulling off their respective roles. If Lusi's fans themselves rate her drama low for playing a different role, they aren't even her real fans tbh. Also Dilraba and Lusi get along so well, its so pleasant to see them together in drama scenes and in bts. They playfully arm-wrestle and tease each other like sisters and their fans start a war for no reason XD
Also for any actor/actress,being part of a great production and playing a role even as a supporting cast is glorious.

Cautiously putting this in my plan-to-watch list once it finishes fully airing. I hold this manhua and its female…
Thankfully, Changge has been kept independent and strong just as in the manhua. But there are bits of changes of circumstances and contexts to adapt the interactions with Ashina Sun and new characters faster.

I personally like both couple. But I hope people who say Hao Du and Leyan couple is so much better arent the same…
Exactly. This drama wasn't about any ship to begin with but a ship war has started for no reason. Also people squealing how Leyan and Haodu has insane chemistry and wants him to save her asap is really strange when people seem to find this exact damsel in distress trope and helpless female roles annoying. So now that this second cp is so overhyped, I get where writers and directors get their inspiration to create such tropes.

One difference between Reba and the Long Ballad and some of the dramas you listed above is that both leads were…
You are right on that point, the age gap between the leads in the mentioned dramas are quite close except ELOD ( 10years age gap, male lead being the older, but no one bats an eye ). But then again, people are used to seeing the traditional setup and flips when the reverse happens. So yeah people can voice there opinion, no problem. So did I. I just voiced out my strong opinion which states Dilraba and Wu Lei are doing a fantastic job here.

Okay then my bad. Never mind. What I meant is generally, all historical and wuxia drama lead characters are in their adolescent ages but played by older actors as per images. But still there are haters bringing age to bring specially actresses down. I completely respect your opinion, though.

Its actually criticizing her when you say the other person can pull off better than her. Because it implies she's worse than her.

Some people even find our insanely gorgeous female lead ugly! *coughs blood* Don't even mention it. People complaining…
Beauty is relative I know. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to call someone Beautiful but someone like Dilraba, who's considered an unmatched beauty gets called UGLY xD
Sure, you can find her not as beautiful as the others but why call her ugly? xD It can only be jealousy, indeed.

Let me answer to the million dollar question here:
"Why is Dilraba playing Changge, a character that's still in her teens?"

A counter question in disguise of an answer for you guys:
"Why does Yangmi play Fuyao in Legend of Fuyao? Why does Zhao Liying play Fei in Legend of Fei and Chu Qiao in Princess Agents? Why Li Qin in The Wolf? Why Peng Xiaoran in Goodbye, my Princess? Why Tiffany in Princess Weiyoung and Legend of Xiao Chuo?"

Next, " Why Xiao Zhan, as Tang San in Duoluo Continent? Why Darren in The Wolf? Why Vengo Gao as Dijun in Eternal love of Dream? Why Mark as Ye Hua? Why Kenny Lin as Yuwen Yue?"

And the list goes on...
Because, in one word, they all had/have what it takes to play these roles that no other person could replace. They are unique choices to cast these roles because of their Charisma. And lastly why Dilraba as Changge Xing?
The director : " I think the manhua artist drew the illustration looking at Raba. "
The screenwriter ( I'm not sure who she is, might also be the producer) : "Raba is destined to play this role for the mole under her eye."

So its just not me, who thinks Dilraba is perfect for the role of Changge. The director, screenwriter/ producer themselves think so and she was the only one they ever considered for the role. Now just because Dilraba is in her late twenties (But still looks like she's in her late teens/early twenties, except when in mature lady make-over), should NEVER be stopped to be cast, right? She has what it takes, she meets all criteria, she has the charisma and the Director and Writer finds her perfect for the role. But people choose to still bring her age into consideration in order to bring her down? Why?
Point to be noted:The drama adaptation never specified their age either. Its just the assumption from the manhua. But if it did specify her age to be 15. What's wrong with that? When there's absolutely nothing wrong when Xiao Zhan plays Tang San and Darren plays the Wolf and Kenny Lin plays Yuwen Yue and Zhao Liying plays Fei and Yangmi plays Fuyao?

Can you guys stop bringing age into discussion over and over again? This is a historical piece, not a highschool drama that needs cast with appropriate age to play highschool students, does it? These kinds of series always require Charismatic actors who can slay the role. Isn't that exactly what Dilraba and the others in the Long Ballad doing ?

If you can accept Darren with his mature as hell face playing a role in his teens, why are you trying to justify the reason you cannot accept Reba as a character in her teens? She looks way younger than her age. And the drama doesn't specify their age, the manhua did. When selecting an actor/actress for a role, directors and writers don't just judge their faces and appearance and what age they look, there are more important criteria. Like, their caliber, ability to have an impact playing that role, similiarities of their image with that role and how much they are able to bring out of that character. The director and the screen writer, when reading the manhua, instantly thought that the artist drew the manhua looking at Dilraba and she was destined for the role seeing the mole under her eye. A petty, irrelevant thing, like her real age doesn't even count if an actress/ actor can bring out what the character is and she is doing great. She looks exactly like Changge in the manhua, and she delivers Changge's emotions exactly as needed. Rosy clearly doesn't qualify just because she's younger than Dilraba, does she? She fits the Leyan she's playing and doing good in that.
And if age were ever the main criteria for selecting actors/actresses for a role, why would Zhao Liying be selected for Legend of Fei and Princess agents and Yangmi be in Legend of Fuyao ? Also you wouldn't see Darren in wolf either, if age was a factor! Its the charisma of the actors that matter, not the AGE, for the nth time. Would you rather like a younger actor play Darren's role in the wolf to match the age?

Actually, in the drama, it was never even mentioned that Changge was 15 and it was her first menstruation! Its just an assumption based on manhua. Why are people so obsessed with labeling her age as 15? The drama doesn't mention anyone's age. So why the fuss over age?
