Me too. It was one powerful line. He gave her a drive to survive. When most stories tend to promote an over protective and possessive male leads with toxicity, this is such a fresh breath.
And I love Ashina Sun's Turk style hairstyle and clothing, its so dashing!! I love the grassland clothings and styling more than the Tang dynasty ones! He also looks more mature in them.

A very important reminder I couldn't but just leave here. This drama is not a about a swoonworthy "kyaaaakyaaa" going love story. Rather its focus is a rebellious character, Changge, who goes through tragic events in life & in quest of survival, uses her own abilities along her adventurous journey, witnesses various hardships outside of her previous life, learns to make different choices and decides upon the path of life she wants to tread. She encounters different people who leaves life-changing impact on her and along the way, finds people she would treasure her whole life. Ashina Sun is one of the most precious persons she will ever treasure or maybe the most important person in her days to come.
The fact that Ashina Sun found her intriguing and fascinating and admirable and unique and would do anything to make sure she survives well even at the cost of her knowing nothing at all or not reciprocating his feelings for her is a trait of an amazing male lead character. Because he is willing to keep her happy and safe not for himself but for her. He is someone who wouldn't hinder her growth but rather enhance it and also let her grow on him and bring out the best in him. Li Changge complements him perfectly. So their relationship is just not simply a love story, its one that has an impact on each other's growth, development and better choices in life. And Dilraba and Wu Lei are doing great to portray this. Personally, I find their chemistry just right for this story built-up. ( Ignoring popular opinions of how more mature looking guy would've been better or more perfect. I see no point in that opinion anymore, when the actors are already slaying their roles and bringing to screen what the characters should.)
Also, another thing that is admirable is, even though new characters like Princess Yongan, Wei Shuyu and Hao Du are introduced in the drama, their screen time is well-balanced and don't take up too much time to drag or distract the main story.

I'm just waiting for the subs for this now. I think Dilraba hasn't been so comfortable without restraint around any male costar for a long time like she is with Wu Lei. Glad to see it. Also Wu Lei really knows how to be a gentleman for real.

If they find this look ugly, then I wonder what beauty really is. I mean, Chinese fans tend to like to see FLs beautiful even cross-dressed. So this much make-up is only expected.

But this Ashina's kinda different, so its fine I guess. Their story will develop in another way. But actually I'm relieved since her illness gives the writers reason to kill her in the end, huff! Also, the sickness was pretty severe later on.

Those are Lusi fans? True Lusi fans are supposed to be happy that she gets a different role and an opportunity to work with a top-tier actress like Dilraba. They are supposed to find their sweet interactions enjoyable and hope for them to be great friends. Chinese antis seriously need counseling, man! I can't believe they go unaccounted for such disgusting deeds. And I really get infuriated when people point out their age gaps because thats pure discrimination with actresses. Age gaps seem to never matter at all when the male lead is 10years older than the female lead. Even though Lusi's cute, I find Dilraba in men's clothes so damn attractive. I really wonder what kind of standard they have to pour so much hatred on someone like Dilraba. Doesn't penetrate my brain at all. Anyways, great artists seem to get greater hatred, it seems, e.g. Xiao Zhan. Hope Dilraba remains unfazed by these haters and their comments and the production team do something to deal with these underhanded measures taken by these antis.

I need them in a modern action romance, next! I don't care about how everyone is going around telling they don't see the sparks, but I really do. I am loving seeing them together just everywhere! Like, in happy camp, press con, live streams. They get along so well and look like they have fun together. I love their dynamic and friendship. I plan to re-watch it once all the episodes are out. Thanks for the heads up. I liked the directing and writing too. And about Dilraba pulling off the soccer scene, I think it was marvelous. She is doing amazing as Li Changge. I don't know why others find it hard to accept, but her blending in as a man felt really natural to me. Her built, posture, properly layered clothing to cover up the chest flat were done really well this time. I would never spare a moment to think of another actress playing the role of Li Changge since I really got overwhelmed with joy the moment I heard of her playing it, this will go down as one of the best characters played by her. The director and screenwriter, too, said that when they saw the manhua, they thought the artist has drawn as if looking at Raba, she was destined for the role.
