Yeah and with all the intense vibes and angst the show starts will and follows through, this series deserves a happy ending. Specially, the two most wounded characters that lived with tragedies in life, Changge and Ashina Sun.
I also wonder if there is something else going on. First, they didn't directly show that he killed her mom. Everything…
He does think of Changge as his own daughter. Its been implied since the beginning. There's no mystery in that. She's the daughter of the woman he loved dearly.
I feel the same as you,I think changge mom kill herself..do you remember the night before, changge mom listen…
More like they added a lot and yes changed some. And there is one whole arc telling the story why she gave up her revenge. Its far greater than anything like filial piety like you suggest. She gets a major character growth there. You'll find out later in the drama. The drama adaptation did add and alter stuffs but they kept the major issues and arcs intact and faithful, so yeah.

Nope. He has nothing to do with Han conspiracies. In the manhua Ashina Sun appears way after Changge escapes to Shuo province and makes strategies for battling Turks. That's when Ashina Sun and Changge met, as opponent in war. And Ashina Sun never set his foot within the Han boundary before. He went there only when there occured an incident to save Changge way later.

well, even while reading the manhua, readers had such a feeling too. But I think for him to adore Changge so much is only natural, since she's the child of the woman he loved dearly. Who knows what the drama has in store. Let's see how it all plays out.
I've read the manhua as well, and can vouch for the fact that the drama adaptation is a lot faithful to major…
Actually, I am a bit concerned about that matter, since I'd really love to see the Khitan and Uyghur arcs and also the arcs of Changge in the turks. But I think there are plenty of episodes left, so they'll make it just fine without rushing things. They are taking their time letting her escape from Chang'an but that's really reasonable in my opinion. Changge in the manhua escaped way too smoothly with all the surveillance and curfews which was kinda unrealistic. But even if they cut these parts, I'd like it as much since the fun starts after that.
Guess I'm the only on that is unhappy with The Long Ballad (and I wasn't even expecting much to begin with, as…
I've read the manhua as well, and can vouch for the fact that the drama adaptation is a lot faithful to major scenes. Yes, they have added some scenes and stories like Changge's encounter and relationship with her mother wasn't so great in the manhua and her father wasn't so strict with her even though he was a scheming man. And i disagree with you on the fact that the added scenes aren't any good. The game scene was an excellent addition. And as for the progress it isn't even halfway through the drama, so have some patience. Shuo province arc will be done withing 16eps and at best take 20. Their origin arcs are one of the best, so I'd hate them if they don't include those. And I can't stand overdubbing either. Dilraba's voice would've been perfect for this role but to hell with Chinese Censorship!

Changge's mom does kill herself but Li Jiancheng wasn't the one to kill her. She wanted to save Li Shimin from getting killed by his brothers' conspiracy and so she told on them to Li Shimin but gets self-tormented for her betrayal & suicides. She loved Li Shimin even after getting married to Li Jiancheng. In the manhua, Changge and her mom didn't have such a good relation....i remember Changge had a fever and reminisced why her mother never looked at her, she thought it was because she didn't look anything like her mother....and as for Li Jiancheng, in the manhua he wasn't so strict with Changge....he was a loving father to her...he allowed her to go for martial arts since her brothers were useless.

The Manhua showed their romantic relationship. Li Shimin and Changge's mom fell in love after he rescued her in the battlefield and brought back to his kingdom. He was a valiant warrior & always took off for battles. But then Li Jiancheng had his eyes on her, as beautiful a Uyghur lady she was, he snatched her away from Li Shimin when he went out for another battle. Changge didn't get to know any of her mom's backstory....let's see how she gets to know them in the drama
Man I was so looking forward to hearing Dilraba's original voice... Why did they have to dub her voice >< Her own original voice would give so much more depth to her acting
Xiao zhan x Dilraba collab deserves a romance heavy project
Tang dynasty look is nothing next to that :3 plus he looks younger in tang look
Why did they have to dub her voice ><
Her own original voice would give so much more depth to her acting
