You don't actually have to feel the chemistry right from the intro. Take your time, explore their characters as the story progress. The main lead Ashile Sun is the best written male lead in chinese drama history, in my opinion. The surface level chemistry that explores no depth is not the main part of the story. The main lead's chemistry is built on a solid foundation of mutual respect and partnership, constantly protecting each other but never hindering each other.

How does the 2nd couple exactly outshine the main couple? This statement can be put forward only by those, who want to start a fan war by downgrading the main power couple. Both have their own charms. And people ship them as per their own tastes. I don't get why the word "outshine" is used here. They aren't in the story for a couple competition. And I don't get how "innocent princess x cold emotionless royal guard" outshines "strong , courageous, intelligent fugitive princess x powerful ,smart, grassland general".

Drama didn't take that route as much as translated by generous people here.

I am loving her chemistry with Wu Lei the best, both on and off screen. They have kind of the same playful and fun personality and get along really well. Can't get enough of them. Also, Ashile Sun, acted by Wu Lei is the manliest and the best written male lead ever. And Changge, the toughest female lead ever. Their character dynamic and chemistry is really rather exceptional and intriguing!

She could play a better Khatun.

For someone who survived in the grasslands whether by seeking sympathy and cold killing from behind the scenes is supposed to exude a different level of charisma and demeanor. Specially once her mask is torn off, she is supposed to show cold emotions rather than just this bland boring facade similar to when she wears her mask !

I think Jinse is a more interesting character than Khatun. Also her acting was entertaining! Khatun is such a bland character for a mastermind. I don't know if its her acting or her character writing.

This quality of Wu Lei is really unique. I love that he can do this!
