How did she betray Sun tho?Changge has always been straightforward with Ashile. He knew exactly what she was up…
It's a bit different here. In manhua their encounter was as enemies. She needed to gain his trust. So she did what needed to be done. She used her glib tongue, cunning flattery and strategies. As for the drama, their encounter at first was not as enemies but friends. They turned out to be enemies from old friends. So their attitude changed accordingly. Changge didn't have to use glib tongue or cunning to gain his trust. She was openly vocal about her priorities. The fact that Tang is the most important to her was straightforwardly spoken out by her and also she works under him on the condition that he doesn't harm Tang.
good lord, when did she betray him sis? are we talking about ep 24-25 again?
In this case, they changed Khatun's way of dealing 'cause Khatun in the manhua was scheming but not victim playing as far as the manhua progressed, she killed and conspired staying behind the scenes. Here they gave her a mask to spice up the story. I too think, Changge isn't someone who would believe Khatun whatever the conversation escalates to, but thinking back on it, it's not like she trusted her either actually, she just needed a way to get Luo Yi out in the safest way possible, so she better used her in this matter. She did sympathize her but she didn't trust her either actually. She just needed her for better implementation of her plan, an excuse to go out in that situation.

In my opinion, they kept Changge's spirit to protect Tang at all cost intact well. Remember, she agreed to be his military advisor on the condition that he wouldn't harm Tang? He also went back on his words(he had no choice in this regard as well), but she didn't. She saved the Emperor so the Turks wouldn't massacre Chang'an. Its not a betrayal. In the manhua Ashina Sun after Changge saved him, promised her in their brotherhood's name that he would never willingly create aggression with the Han. Changge in the manhua never spoke her feelings to protect and save Tang out aloud, but in the drama she does that and very straightforwardly. So her actions are not betrayal. She is very true to her promises. In drama, Changge's situation is way more dangerous and riskier, like a double-ended dagger. But she, at all times, make sure Sun and Eagle division is never endangered due to her actions.
Some are voting it down, and commenting negatively on Chang Ge Xing, because the love storyline isn't STRONG.…
Do they even know the manhua it is adapted from? If the director kept that flow, they would have nothing called ROMANCE in here..... what exactly do they find problematic? What exactly do they want? When we in here are dying because of their BEAUTIFUL love, what do they want? Toxic, obsessive, tyrannical love? Normalizing unhealthy relationships have become such a disgusting thing, people don't even recognize healthy, beautiful, pure and respectful love. Can you tell me where are they downrating this drama? In official sites like Weibo? If only I could read and write Chinese, I'd counter them to death!
Why did the ratings go down from 8.9 to 8.4? It's still good but just curious why it went down.
Looks like I'm the only one who missed the magic show! It'd be amazing to see a 8.9 even if it's for a technical issue *sighs* I remember in the beginning when the first 2/3episodes aired, it had a rating of 9.3 :') And then it went down and remained steady at 8.5 but then again dropped to 8.3 suddenly and now 8.4 for a while. Previously I never cared what's the rating for what or who likes what or who ranks top. I don't know why I'm caring sooooo much about this one- The Long Ballad. Seriously.....
Yuan niang is such a sweetheart! She literally consoled A'Sun with her adorable sensible water jar and a "hug me". She followed him whenever he went away alone. The fact that she's so attached to him is melting me. She was also attached to Changge, I wonder if she felt a resemblance of herself in them unconsciously and became so fond of them.
