if you have watched love and redemption which is xianxia, if we were to compare LaR and TU, TU is like LaR but only focusing on the different immortal sects where the first arc of the story took place.

Untamed is definitely not wuxia because their powers come from cultivating and gaining 灵力 spiritual power with the goal to become an immortal. unlike wuxia where they practice martial arts and the core of their power comes their 内力 or internal force. It's still xianxia but focusing on humans cultivating to immortality, not involving gods but demons ofc exist in their universe because cultivators hunt them. Basically it's a human daoist cultivators vs demons. Xianxia just translates to immortal heroes so as long as people cultivate inspired by daoism, that's xianxia lol

okay okay, finally had the time to binge all the remaining episodes and i think that ending for s1 was perfect. we all thought it'll end wit fangfeng bei taking away xiao yao from her wedding with fenglong but that ain't the case. i love their grandpa sm lmao. literally clowned that bitch deyan. also, xiao yao is such a queen, she's an archery pro and can kill! she really is bei's disciple, ugh.

now about jing's tushan clan mess. what saddens me the most is how his grandma schemed against her grandson, forcing him to marry someone in the worse way. like???? whatt???? worse part is jing's going to raise someone's child thinking its his ugh !!

i just have to address how annoying it is when people downplay's xiaoyao's relationship with xiang liu as if their connection is anymore less than of yaojing. yall simplifying their intertwined relationships simply because the endgame is jing. simply labeling them as:

xuan - cousin, jing - lover, xiang liu - confidant

this isn't the drama where one person only can fall in love and stay in love with one person forever.
