I don't think tencent has a habit of doing that. After all, Douluo Continent's trailer have been there for a month at least before the drama dropped.

I wish they would just drop the trailer so we know it's really coming this April. As long as there's no trailer or official announcement from tencent, everything is tentative.

I know it sounds very disturbing and off putting if you only have that information. Believe me, I put off reading this for months and read it in 5 days straight because it was so good and the plot is deep and compelling. There's a reason for everything. Let's say Mo Ran became insane, totally unhinged insane and there's SOMEONE cause that.

And rape and torture is the least thing you ought to be worried about, there's cannibalism and inhumane torture, making women into breeding stock or ingredients to cultivation pills. I'm sure they will remove that. Oh and when Mo Ran became totally unhinged, he fried his empress(Song Quitong) alive. That's why the start of the novel is him killing himself. And just a bit of spoiler, Mo Ran NEVER loved Shi Mei romantically, again someone made him believe that. Chu Wanning is his first love.

Sorry to burst your bubble but yeah, Mo Ran raped Chu Wanning for around 8 years. There's also torture. And Mo Ran married him and made him consort to humiliate him. BUT, there's a BIG reason. He actually became insane and became totally unhinged until he killed himself. Well, it's a MAJOR spoiler. It's the reason WHY Mo Ran believes he was I love with Shi Mei. Someone is messing with his mind and he only discovered that very very much later on the next timeline and for a while he blamed himself. From chapter 97 and up is a story of Mo Tan's redemption and how he tried to make it up to Chu Wanning by being a generally good person helping people across the land, not knowing it was NEVER his fault to begin with.

Yes, I guess judging by the synopsis it's confusing. Especially the novel synopsis, I thought but was about a literal cat and dogs and I was weirded out that that it was tagged as Xianxia.

There's very little to no spoiler to what I've written, but I checked the spoiler box just in case.

Basically, Chu Wanning is the strongest grandmaster of that generation and he has three disciples. Mo Ran, Xue Meng and Shi Mei. Mo Ran succumbed to darkness because of the death of Shi Mei whom Mo Ran believes (Yeah, there's a reason for that, the love of his life is Chu Wanning, but telling you why is a MAJOR spoiler) is his first love and blamed Chu Wanning. To get revenge, he learned forbidden techniques secretly and when he became strong enough, he became the emperor of cultivation world Taxian-jun. During their final battle, Chu Wanning's core got destroyed and in exchange of sparing Xue Meng and other survivors of their sect, he surrendered. Taxian- jun marries Chu Wanning and he became consort and many years they coexisted like that with tortures(and rape) in between as Taxian-jun slowly loses his mind and tries to kill Xue Meng again, Chu Wanning stopped him for the last time and died. 2 years later, Taxian-jun killed himself and that's the start of the story and concludes the first timeline. Then when Mo Ran woke up, he was 15yrs old again and he thought he can save Shi Mei this time. But along the way, he discovered a lot of things Chu Wanning did for him that he never noticed on his first life that turned his perspective around and then comes his journey of redemption to make it up to Chu Wanning that he wronged deeply on his last life. There's a lot of conspiracy and there's a reason why he started going insane on his last life and he didn't actually time travelled.

Okay, I hope they at least show Mo Ran and Chu Wanning's reunion in Nanping Mountain for the ending. Because fat chance the extras will ever pass censorship.
