I've read all of MXTX novels, I guess their style is very different, I mean I prefer HOB to MDZS, a love even though it lacks the smut, Hua Cheng's pure love that lasts for almost a millennium in ErHa, there's loads of smut. But, the underlying love of a lifetime and the happily ever after ending made the suffering worth it. You just need to get through the angst first and Mo Ran's character from chapter 1 to chapter 97 will make you hate him or want to put the book down for a moment because of his dumbness... I think so too! If the homophobes are busy fanboying the other drama, then people who doesn't even like BL won't even bother being hateful and toxic. Especially, when rumor has it that the underlining homoeroticism is downright walking on the thin wire of chinese censorship (according to the rumors, it's not confirmed!). That's why the hype is off the charts because there's a lot of rumors like that floating around. They say they will heavily hint on the relationship without stating it outright. Even The Untamed is like that. The fans are the ones practically advertising it, but the tencent or any of their official site doesn't do any advertisement not and even refrain from making official announcement of airing date until the day, at least until the drama is over??? That's when the behind the scenes will start blowing up. That's when I knew that we won't be seeing HYX trailer anytime soon and if we do, we will also be seeing first episode a few hours later.
