Are there any chances of this not airing this year?
There's a high possibility of it airing in August but it's all unconfirmed rumors of course. Tencent has to air the drama as soon as possible because brands that collaborated with them are waiting on it along with the investors. The drama will definitely air this year unless something unpredictable happens.
Okay so I heard something on this Facebook group I’m in about how in China or something some fans are not liking…
The script is always reviewed before the drama even starts filming. The kind of allegations they are making are major and there is absolutely no way the authorities would have okayed the script if that was true. Also, the report is not even about RanWan, the lead couple but Shi Mei and Chu Wanning. Yes, it's that ridiculous. Don't worry about it.
I heard that this drama did not pass the censorship and they are gonna change their relationship into father and…
They did pass censorship and the main issues this drama has had is with portrayal of Shi Mei and Hua Binan; not Ranwan. Don't listen to rumors. The reasons for delay are not because of censorship.
I am reading a lot of concerned posts here so just wanted to say. A drama being postponed is nothing new in the Chinese entertainment industry. It happens for a whole lot of reasons. Tencent is an experienced company and Immortality for them is an S+ rated drama aka a high budget drama. For comparison, The Long Ballad was another S+ rated drama. They will definitely release it and it will most likely happy this year since there are also a lot of brand promotions that are linked with the drama and Tencent will have to suffer penalties if they postpone the drama too much.
There are other dramas besides Immortality too that got postponed like Ancient Love Poetry, The Oath of Love, Broker and most recently, The Golden Hairpin. This is honestly a very normal occurrence. So sit tight and wait patiently :D
Don’t believe in fake rumours. They said Winner is king pushed back its airing date to 2022,bcoz it didn’t…
WIK didn't pass the first round and is definitely postponed to ;ate 2021 or 2022 since the censorship reviews have been paused for now and will resume in July I believe. However, it's not a big deal. Immortality failed their first review too.
If Woh was that much of a problem, then authorities would have already pulled it down and banned its promotions…
WoH, the drama itself wasn't an issue but the promotions around it was. Specially, the MxM wedding that they trended, which even topped the Xianjun cotton topic and caught the authorities' attention. The team even got warned by the authorities and WoH creator revealed that they were almost "interviewed" by the authorities.
HYX wasn't postponed because they were afraid of competition from WoH. No offence meant to WoH but 2ha is a highly popular novel and the drama is highly anticipated. Also, there were a lot of promotions that Tencent had for the show that was supposed to run with the show and can't be adjusted (Like the Chinese Ghost Story, KFC Pear White). Tencent actually suffered losses for these and they did so because no one wants to release a high budget drama when the genre is being closely watched by the authorities and risk being taken off air.
And HYX isn't the only drama. There's another BL drama adaptation that started filming and they didn't even release their opening ceremony photos to avoid any unnecessary attention.
I am really happy for the success of WoH as a fan of Gong Jun since Advance Bravely days but there is no denying the fact that WoH's promotional team did bring negative attention from the authorities and this may affect future BLs. This is also why a lot of danmei fans are unhappy with the show/Youku.
There's already pictures of the actors shooting the drama, posters released, when is it coming out? I can't wait.…
Try twitter. The accounts there have the most recent news on the series. As of now, it is postponed and rumors state it might come out in July/August after the CCP anniversary.
I heard that BL Censored romances usually tend to release the trailers on the day they start airing so don't lose…
- KFC just put Immortality lotus puff pastry on their menu endorsed by both LYX and CFY. - CFY endorsed a new flavor of tea called Moran's tea, which will be available from 04/16/2021. - LYX endorsed a mobile game. "A Chinese Ghost Story", the game company bought Erha fanart song: Light Rain Asking for Begonia.
There are promotions happening.
In addition to all this, both directors have posted recently on their accounts about Immortality and also, Tencent announced an increased in their VIP membership fee starting 04/10/2021, similar to when Untamed was about to be released back in 2019. Given all this, it's very very likely that Immortality is coming April 15. Reliable melon accounts are confirming this as well so rest assured.
But at least it's confirmed will be aired in Q2, the same as Sha Po Lang
BL dramas are never included in these lists. Untamed wasn't either but it still was aired. BG and BL dramas have different promotion styles. Look at The Long Ballad. The trailer for it was released 7-8 months before the drama but with HYX, the drama is about to air this month and still no trailer. Same happed with Untamed.
Based on everything, Immortality will air in April. KFC just put Immortality Lotus puff pastry on their menu and it's being endorsed by LYX and CFY. CFY is also endorsing Ran flavor tea (Moran's tea) that will be available starting 04/16/2021. LYX is endorsing a game which uses OST from HYX as background. Similar to when Untamed was about to be released Tencent increase their VIP membership fee. Tencent announced an increase in the fee starting 04/10/2021. Finally, based on airing schedule for Tencent, HYX will air in April. Don't listen to rumors, the official sources haven't said there is a delay. Immortality is coming soon.
I was worried too since I am not familiar with CFY but since the early reviews came in, I am more confident. One…
Apparently it's a trusted insider who is known for giving reliable reviews but of course, reviews can be wrong. Also, they don't want the entire series, only a few episodes.
the only thing I'm worried about is the acting. CFY specifically, let's hope he pulls a GJ and surprise us all.
I was worried too since I am not familiar with CFY but since the early reviews came in, I am more confident. One of the trusted Chinese insider saw a few episodes of the drama and they basically said it's going to be the best BL drama up until now. They haven't read the novel but some of their friends did and apparently, novel fans won't be disappointed. The drama remains true to the source material and a lot of the iconic lines have been left intact.

The second leads of TLB will also be the guests alongside HYX cast. Thats all I know. The broadcast date of the episode I don't know.
Immortality is coming soon. Believe it.
