In ep 18 from the flashback, after Feng Yuan carried her husband to the cave, she ran to the cliff when she heard her brother was going after her. She escaped to the forest so her brother won't find Helian Xi in the cave. In the end of the flashback, she stabbed her chest/heart with twinned branch and she jumped off the cliff. After that, Helian Xi was back to life.
Actually i can watch amnesia plot if it's important to the story and it doesn't become an annoying cliche trope in the drama.
For example the well execute amnesia plot was in "Hard to Find". It was needed for the big mystery part of the drama + it's so natural played in the story from the FL arc. You already watched Hard to Find so you will get what i meant.
I also watch Goodbye My Princess and the amnesia part was also needed and important to the story.

If the drama is good then there is no need to be afraid. People will come to this drama naturally. Ding Yuxi is a well known actor even though he is not a traffic one. Ancy Deng is still new so this is actually her chance to prove that she is worthy to be one of the female lead.
(Don't forget about the "real" issue. Real age-gap between ML n FL. MDL People here are well known to always criticize about age gap especially if the actor is 10+ older than the actress.
