Fyi, Story of Kunning Palace wrapped their story perfectly because the production team didn't experiment with the ending things. They sticked to the novel happy ending.

That's why i don't get it why production team want to change the whole ending things with open/sad ending route. Then they felt scared and suddenly gave a fast food happy ending in the end.

It's all about the consistency of plot. How logic works in this story. They made this drama got happy ending. But it didn't link properly to the final episode. They should stick to novel happy ending instead of change it to sad ending but they decided to change it again in the last minutes.

I can accept both happy and sad ending as long as it makes sense and reasonable. It would not be a problem if the extra happy ending can link properly to the main episodes. But the drama ending in ep 40 had so many death codes everywhere. Especially the last 10 minutes. That's why for extra ep, i am sorry but I don't buy it. Then, WXY studio confirmed what I think with releasing the bts about XH died in the battle.

They should just stick to novel happy ending.

XH was injured but he kept hiding for a few years to heal himself. He still follow XFF during that time when he came back to capital. Then finally he met his wife in the end.

Idk about that, maybe prod team already gave him the script of extra ep during interview time. So it still means prod team want to change the ending when the double was still on going. It's so complicated if we looked behind the productions.

Yup. That's why about extra ep, I don't buy it. It's clearly the sad ending one. The whole red clothes under white pear blossom tree scene was beautiful but it's very tragic. It showed you a lot of metaphors as death codes.

But they just want to play safe and avoid the rage fans. They filmed the extra in a rush. It showed you the whole thing behind the production basically.

I am pretty sure WXY didn't control his acc himself. So it's his team or staff who innocently uploaded the bts and give a bad impact into douban rating. Basically it just showed the secret of whole production. The wishy washy production team who just wanna play safe.

For me, they should just STICK to the real ending. They decided to change the novel ending into sad ending. Then why they suddenly feel scared about it? Just face it and be responsible to their first choice.

Actually i am still prefer novel ending. It showed you a PROCESS why Duke Su keep alive and come out safely during war time. It's more valuable than instant forced happy ending just to please the fans.

They changed the ending in a rush because this drama is a hit. So, the sad ending one is production team first choice actually. So, they really filmed it (with BTS) bcs they had intention to make it sad ending unlike the novel ending.

BUT, after the huge hit, they were scared ppl will dragged down the drama or murder them online if they didn't create the extra episode with happy ending which is feel so forced and can't link properly to the final episode. They grabbed WJY and WXY suddenly to make the extra ep in the same week with final episode. Can you imagine that? They were so in rush to make it a happy one so no wonder it's just a fan service ending to please the fans.

Ppl said WXY team were not sensible enough and just release the bts video about XH died. Idk if his studio watched The Double or not. They should know if they released it then there will be a chaos in the internet. Because it just showed the REAL ending of this drama.

I heard Wang Xing Yue studio release Xiao Heng's injury bts when XH died on the battle when production team already cut that scene and rewrite them as "happy ending". So the cnetz were not pleased with it because all they got were forced happy ending (the extra episode was filmed in the same week with final ep so it was in a rush) without a proper link to final episode. There was indeed so many death codes in the last 10 minutes.

I heard the douban score dropped from 6.9 to 6.6 because Wang Xing Yue studio release something that should not be released.

This drama was in a rush for broadcasting, so the production team didn't give more time for ZLH to adjust his schedule and dub his own lines. That's why they decided to use Voice Actors (cheaper and easier to manage) so their dubbing schedule can be tighter, easier, and efficient.

So, if Youku decide to release the drama next year, ZLH will be given enough time to dub his own lines with his voice. I heard the prod. team can't use ZLH on recording set bcs he got a throat problem while filming. His throat is already okay now but they decided to use VA because of broadcasting rush.

Yes. A detective drama needs something exciting to grab attention or fast paced multiple great cases, otherwise it would be a boring drama. I still follow the thread to decide that I will watch it or not. But i guess i need to skip this drama. Too many dragging comments for this drama.
