JBLs are either as squeaky clean as the cone or among the most risqué and twisted. this seems like maybe it’s going in the latter direction from the decription. I’m ready for some Japanese style Be On Cloud type stories

agreed. forced by circumstance into the same household. the fact that I keep watching these story lines says a lot about the production, though the History “brother” story line did make me squirm a little

I can’t wait. I was so disappointed the Blue Canvas of Yourhful Days got cut short. I understand that one too is based on a book. The stories and the production on Chinese language shows have been great this year

Why would they do that? is it like the stupid political divide here in the U.S. where the two sides just tear each other down. For me the quality of this show is just what I needed after four beautiful episodes of “The Blue Canvas of Youthful Days” and then apparent cancellation. Borh the mainland BL and this Ti BL are both examples of BL at its finest, where every frame reflects the love put into them from those on both sides of the camera. the quality from both countries, censorship notwithstanding in one is something that should make them all proud. but that explains the low 8 rating for Only 1, I guess. so far it’s easily top tier

Well said. The two are giving a masterclass in BL acting. None of that awkward leaning forward when delivering a line of dialogue I see from so many young BL actors just starting out. it’s like watching a school play. not here though. these two guys are getting the most out of every glance and gesture.

I noticed it too. I couldn’t quite place the distraction. but you nailed it. it was really noticeable the morning after the drinking escapade. I thought maybe it was by design but it’s a 30-year-old an 18-year-old anyway what we get exchange is fairly advanced acting chops that we probably wouldn’t get out of an 18-year-old so for me it’s a OK trade pancake distraction for better talent

BL line of the year “Wang. Can we come out of the closet now?”. ha ha ha

That’s the beauty of it. for fast burn see Four Minutes. for acting tour de force, see Wednesday night. Between Sunspot and My Only One, it’s an acting and story telling clinic. then again so is four Minutes.

oh wow. so that explains why this one is a cut above in so many aspects. I didn’t think unknown could be topped but here we are. at least so far.

I thought that was China given its bromance on the surface but strongly implied BL underneath. but I’ll take your word for it. I should never assume …anyway Stsnd By was great no matter which country did it though I guess we won’t be getting a season 2. Howwever, this story is so well done it might be my favorite of the not quite brotherly Love Tropes, though Taiwan has sure produced some great ones.

These are some great young actors giving a clinic in this show. Another well written, well produced Tai BL. But what’s up with all the non genetically connected brotherly love stories out that country. it’s at least 5 BLs over the years I’ve watched with that as a theme, not counting those from Thailand and China

I find this story exceptional. Not much happens yet so much happens. Ep 9 left me feeling pure joy.

I agree with you about the quality,acting production and writing. even as the fourth or fifth story about non genetically related pseudo siblings falling for each other I’ve seen, it’s so well done I don’t mind the familiar trope

Loving the JBLs this year. in general, the quality of BLs in the second half of 2024 is far better than the first half. I can only take so many “100% Fluffy til episode 11 storylines”. I appreciate stirring the pot with both cute and toxic to keep things interesting.

it was great as far as BLa go. one of my favs of the year. needed a break from plotless cute. this was predictable buts nasty and so well acted. Yuki!

just binged it and I think was a better viewing experience than a week to week watch. Yuki’s character rose above the rest. hard to look away from those expressive eyes.
