yes, this drama may not be interesting or engaging for everyone, but i don't think it deserves such a poor score…
Tsk, tsk, tsk. You thought I was a maga fanboi because I questioned your scoring logic, didn't you? Teeheehee. But I think it's quite decent so far, but generally no recent airing dramas have really set me alight. Happy viewing!
He lost everything even his desire to keep living. Now he have someone to protect while trying to stay alive.…
Isn't the car crash pivotal in all of this? He admitted he was a different person from then on. A personality disorder? Initiated psychopathy? Has he lost memories of really being Big Mouse?
yes, this drama may not be interesting or engaging for everyone, but i don't think it deserves such a poor score…
It's not for you so it deserves the lowest score. Nice logic. From what I can tell, everything to you is either worth a super high score and is an unequalled masterpiece or it's absolute trash. I think the rating system here has no place for you, no? Numbers 1.5-8 don't exist in your world. :D
Fans of other drama must be rating this down so it won’t show in top 2 on MDL home pages’ Korean Top Dramas.
Likely correct. This has been happening for many dramas in recent months and in most cases they self-correct and then correspond with age group rating stats.
8.2 for f**** sake who are the asshole who are messing with the rating, this site is reminding me of douban now…
Imagine complaining about an 8.2 rating. 8.2, a good score. And you're losing your mind. That's effin' outstanding brinksmanship. Also, people need to chill. This is happening with many new dramas, where the algorithm goes haywire in the early phases. It might have absolutely nothing to do with antifans hijacking (anyway Douban scores are far more useful than MDL scores where anything slightly better than a turd nugget scores 8+). If you check the score distribution stats by clicking on the rating, they don't actually make sense with the average, ergo there is a statistical disconnect which will probably sort itself out over the next couple of days. This has been happening repeatedly with the scoring of dramas on this site for numerous dramas over the last few months.
Strong female leads with brains who don't get lambasted for shocking behaviour, just based on my limited viewing experience:
Empress Ki The Long Ballad Memorist Queen Seondeok (two female powerhouses) Hotel del Luna (questionable morals no doubt, but a badass) Racket Boys (best female player) Falling Into Your Smile (not strong in the conventional sense, but a god gamer star player of esport.) Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan aka Empresses in the Palace (moral quandaries, devilish schemes.) Mr. Queen (in a strange gender-bender sense) SKY Castle (tour de force of girl power, some nice some not so nice, many smart)
None of these got "review bombed". Implications of sexism fall woefully short under even cursory scrutiny. The FLs from Empress Ki, The Long Ballad and Queen Seondeok are especially brilliant, talented, powerful, arguably beyond any counterpart the show has to offer. In Queen Seondeok, the FLs only real equal is the other FL.
Most of the criticism has nothing to do with the actress, but rather the CHARACTER the actress plays. Whether…
True I have seen some comments insulting her looks. Funny standard though because though it's true that some other 35yo Korean actresses look younger, she still looks really good. Sure looks younger than most 35~yo actresses I've seen in Western dramas recently.
precisely. they are hating on the actual female lead and throwing out their frustation on her character cause…
Again, what is the relevance here? I don't particularly like the drama. It's the only ongoing drama I've put time into, having dropped Alchemy of Souls before this. Again, it's very unclear what you're angling for. Extremely low effort responses to my detailed reply which say more or less nothing. Do try to elaborate.

No, this is extremely unreasonable. So many people are exasperated by the FL... meaning the CHARACTER. Maybe there are some haters of the actress but no, most are bothered by the writing of the character... the characterisation. I also think her character has been the weakest part of the show and find her extremely annoying. Does it mean I hate the actress? No for fricks sake. She's great in Mad For Each Other. It's not about the actress for many people here. But you might find comfort in projecting that I and others are comforting ourselves by throwing frustration on her character as an excuse to hate the FL herself, because apparently that's the only rationale you can express to excuse the opinion - calling people haters. Just because someone doesn't share the same positive opinion as yourself, or has a more extreme negative opinion, doesn't automatically make them a hater. She doesn't act like a grown woman either, as kasp_eddie seems to think (and neither does the ML act like a grown man). So what's next from folks like you and eddie... implications of sexism? Again, for many here that would be such nonsense. It's funny that when people express criticism they actually end up getting directly bullied for having an opinion. Not saying that everyone is innocent but it's not a coincidence that this particular character is getting panned in this particular drama. If it was really something sinister then you'd see such fervent criticism across any drama, perhaps specifically for so-called strong female leads. But no, that is not the case.
Agreed.FL or ML do not need to fit into patterns of what we 'want'.They need to be interesting to make the story…
Most dramas have characters we like and dislike which contribute to making the story appealing and engaging. What you've said offers nothing it's not an insight people are unaware of. The issue for many here is that they feel the character actually makes the drama less appealing and engaging.
Quite the contrary those two episodes were the pinnacle of the show in every aspect of it. Nothing farcical or…
I thought the set piece during the chase scene was incredibly contrived. to be as spectacular and silly as possible. And yeh sure, crazy stuff does happen in real life, utterly horrible things. And I've seen plenty of dramas with horrible things happening, but for whatever reasons this felt way off to me. Couple of months since I watched it so can't put a precise finger on it for you right now - but it's not based on a true story but instead takes on the likeness of terrible issues which do occur in militaries.
I don't really see why I should know a thing or two about condescension. Do you know me personally or something? Have we interacted before?

Do people get a kick out of being condescending or something? Yes I'm sure I was watching this show. Yes, a couple of the characters who were focused on were deplorable though I won't spoil why here. You saw the episodes, you know what happened. You know what he did. Yes, you happened to enjoy those episodes. Yes, I happened to not.

I'm rooting for it - but then two wrongs don't make a right. There should at least be some consequences.
