This is a pedophilia sympathizer movie probably made by pedophiles. Anyone who thinks pedophilia is a "disorder" or " out of a person's control" is part of the problem. Pedophilia is about control. People aren't born with it and its not a sickness. It's abuse.

Loved the plot and story but those kisses at the end were so flat! Where was the passion and yearning that was suggested throughout the show!!

I'm 10 minutes in to the first episode, so I didn't know if I wanted to drop it yet. It looks good and I wanted to watch it, but I can't if it's weird political propaganda. That's why I asked- to see if it was. I cant "ask [my]self first" if I haven't watched the show.

It may be all fake, but capitalist, monarchy and political unrest are all real things in the world. I dont want to watch something if it's filled with weird propaganda.

Yes to everything you've said! I want to like this series because it has so many good parts- but that has been pissing me off. I was so disgusted that Jet basically said for them to mind their business, even if the wife was being beaten. It seems like this show is trying to touch on topics of woman's suffering, but not playing out the stories well.

That episode was so perfect- it was one of the best episodes I've seen of a show. It was so satisfying, cute, beautiful and well done!!

Using little nicknames is the epitome of passive aggressive- you're deflecting. I have no problem with the nicknames, I just think it's an embarrassing look for you.

Finally, some “facts” and “evidence”.
Lets look at your “receipts”

Firstly, you're comparing Thai bls vs Korean Bls. Thailand does far more marketing for its Bl shows.

Second, KinnPorsche and Love in the Air both came out in 2022, while The Eighth sense and A Shoulder to Cry On came out in 2023, so why are you comparing these series when you can't confirm all the variables that went into making these shows popular. Instead, you are chalking it all up to the NC scenes. The Eighth Sense and A Shoulder to Cry On are both school Bls that came out in 2023- when viewers were very tired of school Bls. They are both quite emotional and sad too. KinnPorshe is a mafia Bl and Love in the Air is a somewhat school bl, but it came out a year earlier. Both of these are far more upbeat. These shows are so wildly different genre wise too, so it feels random to compare them.

Thirdly, I don't use Twitter ( fu Elon) so it's possible that that platform shows a much clearer difference in hype.

With I Feel you Linger in the Air you acknowledge the other elements that make the show great- but that show had NC scenes too. Is this series not boosted by its NC scenes? Why?

Comparing Only Friends and Moonlight Chicken is the only fair comparison you've made. Both came out around the same time, both are GMMTV shows with overlapping actors and similar viewership. However, while Only Friends may have trended longer- Moonlight Chicken (low NC) is actually better rated and ranked #369 in popularity on MDL, while Only Friends (high NC) is ranked #387.

Tharntype, a Thai BL that came out in 2019 when there were very few Bls around- back then people watched everything. Cherry Magic, a Japanese Bl came out a whole year later when the BL industry looked VERY different. It's unfair to claim NC scenes were what drove the difference between these series, Plus, Cherry Magic is rated way higher.

If you're going to bring out “receipts” they should be fair comparisons. Instead, you cherry picked shows to try to fit your argument.

Overall, if you look at the highest rated bls- I don't believe there are any that don't deserve to be there (maybe PitBabe).

My favorite show is A Tale of Thousand Stars- a show with no NC that is one of the highest rated shows on MDL.

Also, by saying I'm arguing AGAINST a strawman is to say that YOU are using a strawman argument. I think you mean to say that I am using a strawman argument.

You didn't say top form ratings "benefited" from the NC scenes- that I could agree with.

You did insult fans by agreeing with a comment that called them superficial and not caring about depth. You also insulted fans by saying top form was rated high for the NC scenes- ignoring all the other reasons people like the show.

This whole time I have argued my opinion and you have not done the same. You've given no "facts". What "facts" have you stated? You have said nothing but your opinion. I gave you examples of highly rated shows with little to no shut and smutty shows that are poorly rated. Despite repeatedly telling me to engage with your point- you haven't done so and ignore my attempts to.

Don't act like you didn't say what you said. That was no "simple observation".
I also disagree with the "obvious patterns" you see. From what I observe, NC scenes by themselves have little affect on how highly rated a show might be. What is more important to viewers is production value, couple chemistry, cast dynamics, character development, plot consistency, and relationship development. Some shows with lots of steamy scenes get popular- but it doesn't mean they are rated well.
I'm not trying to attack you or insult you. I'm invested in this because I find it interesting and I care about this genre. People often look down on romance and especially queer romance, so, yes, I'm invested in defending it and it's audience.
Despite that, I won't defend it blindly. I know some people only care about steamy scenes and that their are a lot of underrated shows that maybe would have gotten more attention if there were more intimate scenes. BUT, I think most of the bl audience craves intimate scenes for how it drives relationship development and dynamics- not just to see boys kissing.
That's all I'm saying.
