To anyone who wants a similar story, check out the Thai BL To Sir With Love. It's a period drama which takes place during Japanese occupation of Thailand during the 40s. Both brothers (gay and straight) have their own respective lovers with happy endings. Bonus for MC's *mom* who can kick some serious ass. Actually everyone apart from MC, (who is your typical damsel in distress) EVERYONE can kick ass.
Just a question. Do the main characters of the webtoon make an appearence or is this just about Grey/Shieun's past. I am not interested in the flashback story,so if it's about just that I'd rather than be disappointed.
Harsh but I felt the same. The ML looks his age so seeing with a much younger FL makes me uncomfortable. If I wanted to see an ML with FL his daughter's age, I'd see a Bollywood movie
The drama is being helmed by the Semantic Error team so I have hopes. Their prod quality is really good. Googling to see if I can find more info on the story. I wonder who the FL will be
About the Korena to Eng subs... I thought I was the only one coz I watch a lot of Korean content on youtube (Kdrama, kpop, kvariety etc) so the youtube algo confused me as an actual korean. Glad to see, it's not a Me problem, it's GMMTV problem.
I am kinda excited because it is my FAVOURITE webtoon right now. But the casting suggests that the part they will adapt (FOR BOTH SEASONS) is the blink and miss flashback origin story of Grey/MC. The main characters as per the cast list, apart from Grey, are his best friend, Stephen Ahn, who, not a spoiler, succumbs to school violence and Bryce Oh, their ex-friend turned bully, who is eventually beaten up by Grey turning him into "weak hero".
The actual manga is a fighting action manga and the main cast of the manga isnt in the cast listing, not even as supporting characters.
I might check it out after the season has ended, but honestly the manga has set the bar so high, plus Grey's origin story is seriously boring and run of the mill, just to justify his violent behavior as opposed to everyone else (friend or foe) who fights just because they can.
The director has two BLs - Light on Me and Best Mistake. Is anyone familiar with the webtoon? This smells like a shounen ai bromance... As long as it's not a reverse harem, I'm in.
I do confess that I have watched the whole show. It was absolutely awful but somehow compelling. I was intrigued…
"However a recurrent theme is that a man's feelings about male on male sex can be changed by force."
What? Are u misunderstanding something here? Kim is gay. Kamol is gay. 2 gay men agreed to have a one night stand where they played with a sadomasochistic kink. If u think consensual BDSM is same as rape or abuse, u need to educate yourself at least on the surface level.
Apart from Kom/Baiboon which is a bit skeevy since Baiboon is a minor (but they have a doting uncle/nephew rapport more than lovers), absolutely none of the couples are forced.

I am not going to argue about u not liking some web drama, but rape? Abuse? Did we watch the same show? This is a pure sadomasochistic relationship. Though Kamol, the mafia guy, shows some signs of being a stalker, at no point was the uke, Kim, forced or raped. He was fully sane and consensual. The violence in their relationship pertains only to the specific sexual kink they BOTH have - one likes to hit, one likes to be hit, and it was a kink that was agreed beforehand. At no point, did seme just randomly pick a whip or belt and just start whacking without rhyme or reason. Even with his previous lovers, it was discussed beforehand, it's that those people always underestimated him or thought they could handle the pain. There is a line in the first ep "they always say they can handle it, but they back off at the last minute"
The story is simply, a heartbroken guy moves on with his rebound one-night stand.
Did u watch the whole show or is this based on only the first ep? If u havent, I suggest u watch the first 3 eps at least. If u have watched the whole show, but are giving it a one star based on just one scene from the beginning of first ep, well....
It's available for free on youtube.
