Thanks for saying this... That last line was EXACTLY what I thought. The new season is cool and shiny on the surface, but the soul feels gone. The human connection in the cases seemed surface level and forced, like the writers were trying to force random and unnecessary stuff into "art" to make SY the main guy, instead of letting his work and talent as an ARTIST shine.

Namib has romance?? Where?
Exactly. I know there are k-dramas with may-december romances, but there isn't even a hint of romantic chemistry here. She straight up acts like a stepmother (selling him, then crying because she feels guilty) while her husband and son are out there practically throwing hands because people insulted the ML.

No hate or whatsoever but any hint of romance would ruin this drama for me ( ask Namib why we still have a beef…

the black robe guy sorta looks like his brother/cousin. I first guessed it was the older version of his cousin (possibly time traveller) after the face reveal, but then identity was revealed.

Just curious from a cultural and linguistic perspective, why does the article about Zhang Ling He, a Chinese actor,…
"Saseang" is now considered more of a global borrowword, rather than exclusively korean. Sure, every language probably has their own version for "obsessive stalker", but the specific term sasaeng is quite well-known and easy to understand

The book is called "Chinese Makeup Bundle (Tang Dynasty)" that's probably where the confusion lies.

It's like someone wrote a book called "ideas to dress like Marilyn Monroe" and biopic maker confused the pictures of the models in Marilyn make-up as her actual photos and used them in the movie.

It's all done now.. production apologized and corrected their mistake. Author is happy and satisfied. If there was any money involved, they don't wanna talk about it. There is absolutely no drama from the OG parties, only the fans of both getting their panties in a twist

Oh man, are you saying the Untamed was stolen?! No collaboration with the original author? :(
That person isn't making any sense. Untamed was an adaptation based in a fantasy world (people are flying on swords and controlling zombies with flute music) and costumes and make-up was depicted as was written in the novel. And even then, the apart from the colours, the styling of the costumes and accesories was generic "historical" and not specific to any one era or dynasty.

Meanwhile, FP is based in actual history - Tang Dynasty - and they had very specific types of dress, make-up and accessory styling. And that's not even the issue here. The designs for costumes and make-up were taken/referenced from a book by this specific author. The book is about make-up/styling trends in history, but the actual designs are her own work. The author wasn't even unreasonble about it - she wanted credit where credit is due.

isnt the author of the book depicting tang era makeup and styling based on actual artifacts and documents that…
That's exactly what happened though. The designs were her ORIGINAL work, BASED on the INTERPRETATION of the historical records. The production team had the same confusion as you -they confused her original designs as real artifacts.

Author said she is fine with people using her designs for non-commercial purposes (like some lady wants a special accessory or a gift or whatever) but using those designs in a drama production comes under commercial purposes, which is plagarism.

Edit: the author is a male. Someone in the comments further ahead used "she", so I kinda went with it. The MDL article says "he", but I glossed over it lmao
