Exactly. This drama doesn't trivialize mental illness. It says that yes, it's a very serious issue, but nobody is paying attention to the people who suffer and need help, because they all their own agendas and calculations. FL didn't think twice about abandoning a kid she herself gave hope to, the new company blame Jinwoo for things that are not his fault and beyond his control, people blame Hana for the vote manipulation...etc. The kids are desperate and crying for help, but shit just keeps piling, until one day someone breaks and does something that can never be taken back.
Which is the sad reality of today's k-pop/k-ent industry. Fans will blame idols for anything from dating and having a life before they became idols (need I remind you of Riize) , for being bullies or rumours of them being bullies (Garam scandal?) to being born to wrong parents (my former bias, Kyoungyoon of DKZ, was forced to apologize and leave the group because he was born in a cult, like we get to chose our parents smh).
Wait, Rowoon left sf9? this is more news for me rather than the actual article 😅 Ok, now let me read this again.
Long time ago. Around Destined With You, or just after that. Matchmakers happened after he left. He is still with FNC though. He had been missing out on sf9 schedules for a while (first due to his injury, then shooting dates), so everyone was kinda expecting it anyways.
Random thought, but if everything goes to hell in a handbasket, Yoo Jinwoo can always work in The Factory. Shim Jinwoo will be 10000000x better boss than all the disgusting adults (except dad) in his life.
No spoilers, but I absolutely LOVE how the entire family rallied for YJW and put FL in her place, in their own ways. And future ML CEO Shim Jinwoo!! What do I do with you?! He is so bloody awesome.

Why sensitivity. Handling such issues with kid gloves is exactly the problem, because then you don't understand just how bad things really are. They are not. The glamour isn't glamourous at all. It's dark and horrible and rotten, just covered with thin shiny curtain that fools outsiders, but hurts the ones inside.

they never said it was healing at all. they said that idols are expected to suck it up and move on, carrying the weight of their own demons while being circus monkeys for the world. These young kids, some debuting as pre-teens even, are treated worse than animals by everyone, from their agents, to their families, to fans who except them to be other worldly (why else would there be a kpop dating "scandal" every 2 days). They DON"T get the help, nor do most of them get people who actual give a crap about them. There's a reason why so many young idols are making front page of MDL - Zhao Lusi's article is STILL up, with more than 400 comments. As is Zhang Ling He's.
Some like Jiyoung, might find some people who care about them, or have friends who can support them, others like YJW are screwed from the get go.
Everyone except the FL because 99% of the crap that's been happening is because of her. Yoo Jinwoo is just collateral…
Yeah, but you are talking about the day of the accident, but not the events leading up to it. SJW's accident and JHC sister accident happened on the same day, at the same time, so that is exactly one time where she wasn't at fault for her ignoring the call (since her husbnd broke the phone), BUT, and this is a big BUT.
FL's abuse of her trainees wasn't a secret. She made her employee, JHC, bring his sister on as a trainee even though he was reluctant, this is shown. She was verbally abusive to her trainees (including RAID, this is shown) and she didn't give 2 shits about non-important trainees, like Chris and YJW who were with her for YEARS. She didn't recognise Chris, calling him "JHC thug", but her husband who RETIRED 10 YEARS ago, did. Same with Hana, who was her trainee for years. This was BEFORE Shin Jinwoo's accident.
Her bringing in shady investors was BEFORE her son's accident. And this includes that Oh Bong Gyu guy, who was a rich fan in love with her, whom she lead on for years, taking money and going on dates with him even though she was in a relationship with her now-husband. This was before her son was even born.
No outsider is gonna walk into a talent company and randomly take take the kids studying/training there to some club without permission from higher authorities. We SAW CEO Kim, FL's right hand, telling the girl-trainees (including Hana and JHC sister) to go the club with those guys even though they were clearly uncomfortable, and seeing how nonchalant he was, it seems like a normal everyday occurence. This was BEFORE the accident. Which means that it was when FL was on the phone, ignoring her son and taking calls from her office. If it was a new thing, that NEVER happened, the FIRST thing her assistant would have done was CALL her (because she was available at the time, remember, they were talking about styling for Hana's group's debut), instead of telling the girls to go.
Are you telling me that the staff of her company was making decisions to send trainees to clubs with COMPANY investors (i.e clients of their boss) without consultin the said boss? Or was the said boss turning a blind eye to "unspoken rules" (as they are called in the industry), because making some minors uncomfortable would make her company more money? And not like we haven't seen that side of her with YJW (only her goal has changed from Pandora to Factory) And even if the staff acted of their own accord, it is still the boss' responsibility since that's HER STAFF. As the big boss, she is held liable to her employee's actions, since it happened AT THE COMPANY.
Now, we ALSO saw her and CEO Kim coming to the sister's funeral and claiming that since the accident happened outside the company, it wasn't their responsibility and FL SAYING that the girls (minors) had volunteered to go. This was where JHC started hating FL. Not because she didn't pick the phone at the time, but because she actively blamed the dead victim. And BECAUSE she and CEO Kim didn't agree to support JHC, he lost his case against those men.
FL may not have run over the car on that girl, but because she absolutely was complacent in sending a minor girl out with unknown men who drugged her, and tried to r*pe her, leading to her death.
Is Su Hyeon terminally ill? Could the reason she abandoned Jin Yoo for the money to set her son up before she…
Unless there's a plot twist in the final eps, there's nothing wrong with FL. The actress who plays her was sick during the shooting (they made an announcement about it) that's why the character looks sickly.
Everyone except the FL because 99% of the crap that's been happening is because of her. Yoo Jinwoo is just collateral…
I'm not saying he isn't wrong. But he went crazy BECAUSE of FL and her past actions, so place the blame where it is due. No doubt JHC is bad, he IS the villain and he keeps targeting YJW who is innocent, instead of FL who isn't. But none of this wouldn't have happened is FL wasn't a money-hungry and power-tripping b*tch. FL is literally the only one who will get away with everything because "she is upset/feels guilty" with no accountability because the man who was hurt because of her actions is taking his anger out on the wrong people.
FL doesn't give 2 shits about YJW, so JHC ruining his career makes no difference to her, because she got her money after selling him, so trying to hurt her by hurting YJW makes no sense. If JHC was smart, he would have f*cked FL over by placing the drugs in her son's bags (like he did with that other CEO's son), or running a car over her husband/mother/sister. Direct and to the point. His obvious stupidity is the reason I don't like him.
If u read up on the actual case. this movie got so popular and there was so much backlash about the sentencing…
Google. It's a very famous case. Just google "Gwangju Inwha School".
This movie is based on the novel The Crucible (Korean: 도가니) is a 2009 novel by Gong Ji-Young (공지영) based on an actual case of mass sexual abuse at the Gwangju Inhwa School for the deaf in South Korea. The title was taken from Arthur Miller's play of the same name [from Wiki]
