7.7? I'm not touching this show with a ten foot pole with that rating
Ignore the ratings and trailer. It's a solid 10 slice of life drama with bomb chemistry, and healthy relationship where mains communicate their issues openly and maturely, a character's trauma-related PTSD are actually part of the plot and not taken lightly (there is no magic cure, he is still in therapy until very end). The fight and sex scenes are actually decent and "believable" because the MC is a supposed to be stuntman/bouncer who is trained to fight, and not some college boy who is suddenly an expert in martial arts when surrounded by thugs.
All the introduced plot-arcs actually do get completed; no character, INCLUDING minor characters, is wasted; no unnecessary drama between main leads, or with the dad. ALL communications happen openly on-screen. The dialogue is at times cringe-worthy, but u can always stare at Ohm (whoever was in charge of his styling deserves an Oscar and a Nobel prize because MY GAWD!!) and ofcourse, the OST. I'm sure even the people who hated the drama love the OST, so I won't waste my breath on it.
I really would like for once Chinese dramas to portray men who are unhappy in their marriages and move on to a…
I would suggest Winter Begonia (BL) for that plot, but it's a period drama takes place at the beginning of Japanese occupation, so it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's very noir-y with very very heavy themes.
It does involve a man cheating, but it is "justified" in a sense. The ML was forced to marry an older woman for money. The woman needed a trophy-husband to front her business (because her father wouldn't allow a daughter to inherit the family business) and the guy needed to pay off his family debts. She tries to control him financially, while he tries to be good husband, until he meets MC, a successful male opera singer who understands him on a "spiritual" level.
The wife starts as basically a vamp who tries to separate the two, at one point even threatening to cut her husband off financially, until the opera singer tells her that he has never been in it for the money, and that he is more than capable of supporting himself and his lover by himself. She eventually does come around (it's a period drama and we are supposed to root for the cheaters, but wife was actually fav character). It ends with an opening ending (and hilariously, the most famous scene of the drama) where ML and his wife both wait at the train station for the husband's lover to come, so they can escape Japanese-occupied China.
On 3rd but reading the comments, dropping it. I was hoping Yan Zijing would be her long lost brother of something (red pearl clue), and the other guy ML. Unfortunately, it seems I was wrong as well the rest of it isn't worth it either.
The original wasn't that good either, but it was one of the first of it's kind that's why it has a nostalgic fanbase.…
Tbf most remakes of popular shows/movies are just money-grabs, and a half-baked attempt to direct the audience to the original work in an attempt to preserve the IP/copyright.
Actors are carrying this show alone. Otherwise the plot is just π₯²

idk, do we know what the character age difference is? but honestly, i feel like often people who are younger can…
I haven't watched it yet. I usually wait for atleast 3 eps before I start. If the reviews are good then I will watch per week, otherwise just wait it finishes and binge. I am starting Kidnap today, lmao. My observation was based only off the trailer.
I was talking to my sister on a completely unrelated topic, when I finally realised what's the source of my Joong-issue. I have a 20-yr old cousin, who is a part of that whole Kylie Jenner/Insta-influencer generation. She wears her everyday make-up like an influencer, which horribly ages her up - we always joke that she is going for a "40-yr wine aunt, divorced mum of 3" asthetic. I am 35, so it's quite a BIG age difference. I don't have a baby-face but I take care of myself. I could pass for maybe 30-ish, so not that young, but enough to fool a date or two. So when we are together and she is in her full make-up, I look younger. It's weird and jarring, because you KNOW she is practically half my age, but she gets mistaken as the older one. THAT's how I felt when Joong was called the older one.
But, well, if they have addressed it, more power to them.
I think Joong actually looks older than Khaotung, who has been styled like a babyface for this series.
Na. Khao doesn't have a babyface. He looks his age - 25-26, unlike say Gun or War (Jack and Joker) who can pass younger. Same with Joong. He looks like he is in early 20s. Their styling just makes them seem weird because it doesn't suit either of them.

I'm not talking the age difference, I just can't buy Joong as the older one. At all. Maybe if they had switched Joong to younger, or castvFirst and Dunk as siblings... But Khao and Joong where Joong is the older one just doesn't seem right. Idk it's like something is a wrong with that
I just can't buy Joong as Khao's older brother, esp considering the actor not only IS younger, he LOOKS younger as well. They could have made him the protective younger brother, and Khao as the gullible older brother (not like that isn't a popular trope as well), or they could have just cast another older actor to play the character. Jimmy would have fit better, imho.
"Project 7", a new concept idol assembly reinforcement audition, is open to all 'men who dream of becoming top-tier idols' without restrictions on affiliation, experience, age, nationality, etc....
It's just a regular debut survival show. If they were really true to the synopsis, they would have debuted a group like Eternal Boys (anime), middle-aged uncles who always dreamt of being idols, but life got in the way. If u haven't seen it, it's available for free on youtube and theOST is to die for.
when you are attracted to your blackmailer, anything slides ππ€‘but also heβd be labelled as a victim or…
That's the plot of the show, sure. He was already attracted to the guy even before the blackmail part. That's not an issue here. The issue is that a high-profile lawyer would fold for something as silly as revenge porn, esp in his own home, like he has no other choice.
