In India, it would depend on how popular and big the businessman is. For eg, if Ratan Tata or Mukesh Ambani had a scandal, like a illegitimate family expose, people would care. Gautam Singhaniya's divorce is a big deal because his wife is also on the board of Raymond and it was very sudden and shocking. But even in other non-famous companies, the scandal would affect the market to an extent. The common people wouldn't care that much but it doesn't mean there would be zero effect on the company. It all depends on the "values" of the company.

Like nobody holds Elon Musk to higher standards but if say, Mark Zuckerberg, who is well-known as a "family man", was suddenly exposed to have a secret family, then it would affect the Meta stock (which is literally what the Board cares for. THEIR money).

In Kang Taeha's case, SH is a family-oriented company and if u read the articles, they say he had a "shotgun wedding" with some bargirl and/or illegitimate daughter of some other businessman. And considering that it was so sudden and secretive, unlike how a marriage of a celebrity (I say this with a pinch of salt) should be) that not even the board was informed of it, they think it's a problem.
