Same. It made sense to have non-linear flashbacks because they kept a lot of their past interactions as a mystery. And served only as a comparison for their current feelings. Like in one flashback Dohyun over hears DW saying he "just wants to sleep with him" to some guy, and it doesn't really bother him until in the present when he realises it's not because DW wanted to bang him but because he meant actually sleep because he is an insomniac. This is why he gets upset, because he doesn't know if DW actually loved in the past (no matter how they separate) or was it just a platonic insomnia treatment thing.

Exactly. I watched it last night and I really don't get the hate. Apart from ep 8 which seems like snippets more than scenes (which I'm guessesing the director was told to film 10eps and then told to reduce it to 8, OR extras for the movie), the whole thing is perfect and amazing. It obviously wont top Jun & Jun as my best KBL of 2023, but it is pretty high up there with ULS and ODS.

Still on ep 2, so ima not delve into anything else, but we do know why DW slept next to Dphyun before they met. In the library ep 1 (before they reunite), u can see DW getting sleepy (yawning, nodding his head etc) the moment he sees Dohyun through bookshelves. He is trying to follow the guy who makes him sleep (he has no idea it's Dohyun yet) but the girl interrupts him. He even asks the girl, "apart from you, do I know anybody else here" and ahe says no.
In the flashback, we see Dohyun walking into the sports rooms and see some kid sleeping and he sits next to him. Then he starts nodding off (as an insomniac myself, whenever I feel sleepy, it mostly a sign that my brain is on the verge of collapse. Like if u dont sit/lay down, you are gonna fall.... i was kinda expecting him to collapse in the library tbh), so he laya down next to the guy who is sleeping, and probably accidentally cuddles him.
There are a lot of time when people who adapt novels or webtoons, adapt these things without understanding or explaining the little nuances behind it (that the author probably wrote in for a reason).
P.S. From my personal experience, idk if it also common with other insomniacs, but over my 30+ years, I have come to realise that I sleep well when I'm around certain people (like my sister)
