Yeah, u are right. I dont think when they made S1 they had an idea of how big it would be, which is why they used up the protagonist card for a throwaway character. CHW would have made an absolutely perfect Ben Park (in fact, when they announced the casts they use Korean names while Manga uses English names, so it took a while for me to connect the dots). Honestly, before I learned that S1 was gonna be a prequel, I was hoping to see CHW as Ben Park lmao.
Thankfully, they cast his son now so it's fine hehhehe

These days, u can't really find short actors lmao, but otherwise he was pretty perfectly cast. Ben Park is supposed to be a comic relief type character who is actually the strongest fighter/boss, so Ryeoun is also a great cast (he can be funny sidekick character as well as a badass Protagonist leader).
Idk anything about Bae Na Ra so I can't really comment but he is apparently playing Donald Na, who is VERY smart like scary good smart (so is Grey, but Donald is more practically oriented) and very powerful. Basically, he is the definition of OP character

Idk how they will change the plot. Read the webtoon if u can. I was super excited when s1 was announced because I have been reading it since Day 1. I was extremely disappointed because s1 is based on barely there flashback. I still haven't seen because it adds nothing to the webtoon plot. But I did encourage my friends and sister who haven't read the webtoon to watch it.
This plotline seems exactly the same as the first one? I loved the first season but I don't wanna just see the…
The webtoon is more fight-ranking focused. Grey starts as new kid in an all bully school, fights his way up in ranks to Top 4 and becomes best-bros with the Top 3 (Ben, Alex and Gerard), then it's all about best fighters in other high school ranks. All high school bullies fighting each other.
Donald Na is the eternal #1 and the main antagonist. Grey eventually rises to #8 by the end of the webtoon. The plot arcs are about two characters/gangs who will fight at the end of the arc.
He woke in the last panel of the last chapter. The author promised "an epilogue" but it just turned out to be some generic Q&A and author's notes and stuff. So basically, the story ends with Grey and his Eunjang buddies opening the door to Stephen's new part time job (they don't even meet onscreen).
I hope they give Si Eun his βtrainingβ arc like they did in the webtoon flashback. No way in hell can Si Eun…
He started training formally after the Forest Lee/Grape fight (Ben told him to get a training band to increase him muscles and eat more chicken, because OF COURSE HE DID lmao).
He doesn't beat Wolf until Chap 80 (he has to go through Colton, Helmet, Jimmy Bae arc, Teddy, Grape etc etc and increase his stats slowly to get to Wolf).
Seeing the comments here I just searched some characters there is a character called Alex go whose description…
Alex isnt gay. This is a PURE ACTION High School manga with fighting arcs (fights between characters). No revenge drama, no romance, no nonsense. Think Tekken, but with high school bullies (yes, ALL of them, including Grey, are violent bullies. It's just that Grey is kinda like Dexter, he only bullies other bullies).
Also, Grey is a thin, fragile, girly-looking guy (think pre-serum Steve Rogers) and a VERY violent badass psychotic fighter (in one fight, he uses a pen to tear a hole into his opponent's hand and smashes his head in with a brick) and guys on his team are all ππππ
But if u are looking for bromance, Ben Park (some said Ryeon is gonna play him) and Grey have a very strong bromance going on
Yes, it was confirmed by the director himself. Filming starts in December
Ryeon is playing BEN PARK?? He straight up looks like Alex Go's irl version lmao.
But after watching Twinkling Watermelon, I can see him as Ben. He's got that "weird guy comic relief who is actually a badass Boss" personality down pat
Where did you read the webtoon? Can you recommend me a page?
Webtoon site/app. It is already completed 3 seasons, 260 chapters.
Just keep in mind that Kdrama is a prequel tangent - i.e. inspired by, but not exactly same - of a simple 10 chapter flashback in middle of S1. The story starts with, and is about, Eunjang High School (Grey's new school in drama) and their gang war with other high school schools. It's NOT a bully revenge plot like the kdrama. Only Grey's flashback origin story has some bully-revenge elements to it.
If u are looking for more of Grey/Stephen bromance, that's just a drama thing, not a webtoon thing.
I am sorry, but I think they could have styled that wig so much better!
They should have asked him to grow out his own hair, a bit longer and used nirmal extensions. It's not like he has other projects shooting at the same time
Androgynous aka Gender neutral. That is, men who are girly looking, esp with long hair. Like Heechul from Suju or Hyunjin from Stray Kids.
This guy, Ji hoon, has a very manly looking face... I can't see him as andro even with long hair. He looks boyish because he is young, but he has a very "action hero" face. In a few more years and with a more built body (maybe after his military stint) I see him doing action type or dominating roles, not sweet puppy romances.
Since one of the leads is Kang Min, I wonder if they are testing waters for Sanha to do a bl or a mainstream censored bl (a la Devil Judge or Untamed).
Now they are all the same age as no-koreans. Koreans have aged DOWN lol, since last year, because they got rid of the age thing.
Thankfully, they cast his son now so it's fine hehhehe
