I can’t control my voice when I’m super excited especially when I’m happy, and people perceived it as I’m whining or mad because of sudden high pitched, then I have to explain I’m happy. I can modulate it when I’m thinking how to speak it especially when it comes to reporting, but not all the time. I’m living in a capital city where the language speaks natural neutral tone but my pitch and way of speaking are influenced by my father and mother’s side family ‘s dialects. This is in Sweet On IQIYI so I really expected to be light-hearted, fluff, feel-good drama, small complications. Well, it really is in the light of Sweet On. It’s easy to watch. So far I’m in episode 7. Too early to say I get the plot or completely analyze the character. Yes, sometimes I skip, because in my defense, I already get the gist of some scenes.
Also it’s genre is Time-Travel. I’m pretty tolerant with it because there’s strict censorship about time traveling, so there’s really need a change or remove some scenes to possible pass the censorship. I don’t totally blame the screenwriters, even they want to put a well thought scene, if it isn’t allowed, there’s nothing they can do. I’m gonna cite an example, Legend of Yunxi in the novel is a combination of sci-fi and fantasy (the fl time travels also) but in the drama, they drop it, and identify it as just fantasy. Sci-fi and fantasy can’t be mixed. So I think this drama will definitely go for fiction path.
It is really not a bad drama. The cinematography is good. It also depends on your preference on a fl character. So, open your mind if you choose to watch a drama where the fl is out of your preference, it will always a bad drama for you. I only say the FL, for the reason that admit or not, ML always receive the typical cool drama in most of the dramas, and give the contrast or opposite to the FL. I think, for the reason is CONTRAST CREATE CHEMISTRY. It works most of the time. It’s easy to do for writing than create a soulmate type of story that need a long episodes to build without looking like the destiny force it.
As for the actress, I’m definitely not a fan of her but I just want to say my thoughts, she’s not a bad actress as some people says. It’s just Tianchong (sweet dramas) isn’t her genre, atleast not yet. You can’t ace everything in your first try. I watch some clips of her in some drama doing supporting roles. I think she’s most suited in serious or melodrama. I watch her crying scene here in See You Again, she’s good. I’m a firm believer that change is constant, citing Dylan Wang, people say he’s bad in his previous drama but in LBFAD, everyone praised him.
