Yu Shuxin is really good at choosing scripts. She’s breaking the stigma in cute sweet girls. Her cute sweet characters can prove is another type of strong woman who fights when there are mistreatment and not stupid just like in her dramas Moonlight and Love Between Fairy And Devil.
Although in Love Between Fairy And Devil she portrays many personalities or characters, and not just being cute. Her character Xiao Lan Hua is the best Xianxia female character I’ve watched so far. She is the character that can convey true compassion and empathy. She have the best character development from being naive and coward to learning how to be strong for the people she loves. It’s rare to meet this kind of character who will just grow on you.
I find it funny that both in Moonlight and Love Between Fairy And Devil, they both use moon as symbolism and also both 2nd FL in her dramas is not petty and even become her friends.
And her next drama, A Romance Of Little Forest male lead is a botanist. Why her dramas seems to have a connection to each other.
It's not an open ending. DFQC is a true immortal as explained in the first episodes. He really can't die. His primordial spirits will just be scattered every time he died. Just how XLH saves him in the first episode through her Xilan healing ability. Siming even made DFQC realize that XLH saves her the first time they met.
I’m still confused why IQIYI still put LBFAD as a Sweet On. Love Between Fairy And Devil is the best XIANXIA DRAMA. Xiao Lan Hua and Dong Fang Qing Cang is the best couple. I’ll tell you it’s a gem in Cdrama.
Watch it with open heart and open mind because it has a lot of symbolism. Interpreting the lines won’t do because it conveys a lot of meanings. Even the characters you thought you’ll hate will suddenly grow on you without even knowing. This drama will teach you to be not judgemental because when you thought you are right, the plot will move beyond your imagination.
I want to appreciate Esther Yu Shuxin acting from differentiating Xiao Lan Hua and Xiyun. I’m more impressed on how she interpret and integrate herself into combining the two characters. It’s so wonderful!

She really wants to try villain role, school drama and republican but a big victim of typecasting. She is really well known for being natural bubbly, cute and funny that it sometimes underestimate her true ability as an actress. It’s not that bad though, because she is known for her personality, when the team producer and team first time watch her in YWY2, they think she is heavenly chosen Xiaolanhua that they didn’t try to audition for other actresses.
But she also said before that after trying cute role, she immediately wants to change roles but when she attended Huang Bo’s acting class where he said you need to be famous in doing that role perfectly than trying different roles but it’s still unknown and not recognized for acting that roles (not direct translation). I think she nailed being Xiao Lan Hua. She can try another roles now.

Not yet. She have almost every day shooting Sword And Fairy plus she has attended a variety show of Hello Saturday again with Zhang Binbin to promote Romance Of A Little Forest. Wang Hedi is also there in the variety show since he's the main cast. I think that episode will air in September. Maybe she'll do it in September 17 LBFAD Fan Meeting since the cast wil be probably complete to put ugly makeup in her face.

Can I say Shuxin's Moonlight I've watched from SWEET ON last year is the true definition of SWEET ON. It's super light-hearted, FL fights back against mistreatment and does not easy to bully, she's not jealous, just happy bickering with ML plus she has good friends and family, awesome and best confessions, conflicts solve within 1-2 episodes. I really love tianchong (sweet romances) dramas.
