I don't remember this point in the novel at all, maybe I did read it superficially! But I think Yan's empire's…
I think in the novel it was an unnamed maid/dancer/assassin (tbh I dont' remeber that 100%) sent by the Empress Dowager to assault Dan, not Shanyi. The maid was killed after giving birth to the crown prince.
I loved both the novel and the donghua (and currently watching s2 of the donghua), so I went into this already knowing how the story will go, however it's still such a delight to watch a live action version! It's honestly really satisfying seeing all the key points being portrayed. I like that they stayed true to the souce material (at least up to the point I've watched) and didn't throw in unecessary plot points to make things more "surprising" or "original". As a novel reader, this is how I want adaptations to me made. Plus the costumes are gorgeous! Everything the FL wears is simply stunning.
He has multiple wives but he doesn't get physical with them. He was infamous in the palace for avoiding women.…
If I remember correctly, in the donghua, the empress dowager drugged the ML and indeed sent in a maid to rape him to conceive a crown prince (I remember that bc of how shocked I was at that scene, they don't "show" it, but we see everything right up to the moment the maid approaches the ML...) I havent't gotten that far in the novel, but I assume the same happened there.
my personal experience is that the rich suck up to each other.... stick to each other .... and will NOT make any…
True that's the reality. However in dramaland I really appreaciate this direction they're going. After all, who hasn't thought about the good they could do if they had that amount of money and power.
I love love love that one of the leads uses her privilage and connections (of being the daughter of a powerful family) to get them along in their case. After all, if the bad guys can use their power and wealth to pressure and silence victimes, this is just leveling the playing field.
Great first episode! Can't wait to see how it continues
In the end, Yun Ju was a worse mother than a bad woman I'd say.. How can you as a mother do that to your son?…
That's exactly how I feel about Daniel. He settled in really well Korea, but to have it all stripped away so suddenly at his age... I feel so bad for him.
The first episode was so cute! Their interactions are so adorably awkward. Plus I loved how she took the initative to get to know him better. If it keeps going like this, this is right up my alley!
What Daniel said to Jun Gyeong was definitely uncalled for and harsh. But at the same time, we should also look…
I personally feel like the amount of hatred and vitriol Daniel shows towards Junkyung far extends the anger and dissapointment Jukyung expressed seeing her father with his new girlfriend. Being an insecure and dissapointed teenager doesn't explain to me how he's so comfortable calling an adult a whore to their face.
that kid is behaving pretty normally for a teen. most likely he came to korea because he didnt like his stepfather(you…
Idk I personally feel like what Daniel said isn't normal teenager behavior. That was way out of line and incredibly disrespectful. We've all been a teenager at some point so I know hormones and puberty can make you act dumb, but the average teenager doesn't have that much vitriol in their heart to call someone a whore to their face
I love this casting, always a joy to see Oh Yeon-seo in anything! But most of all I love that they cast an age-appropriate ML that can believably play the role of a ceo
Plus the costumes are gorgeous! Everything the FL wears is simply stunning.
